" In the Anarchy Online world, there is a place called the "Shadowlands". It is a sub-universe of Ken's original reality, in which powerful beings, the progenitors of the human race, split into two factions (the Redeemed and the Unredeemed), and warred for control over the ultimate power over creation, life, death, and reality itself, known as "The Source". In the war between the Redeemed (angelic) and Unredeemed (demonic) factions, they created weapons known as "Spiritech" weaponry, when discovered by Ken and other people in his home time and reality. These are weapons imbued with actual spiritual technology, that can access and harness the power of the soul, to give them their strength. The weapons do this using nanotechnology as a spiritual conduit/medium.

Ken's rifle, the "Revolution Rifle", is among the most powerful of these Spiritech weapons ever found by human expedition teams. Ken himself pried this weapon off of a dead creature deep within the Shadowlands, and brought it home, to begin to tinker with it, and to suit it to his needs.

The original body of the rifle is as you see in the attached picture; sleek, simple, elegant, made of a blue-black-purple metal. It has no need for a trigger; the rifle fires purely by mental impulse (thus eliminating the muscle jitter created by pulling a trigger), and can thus ONLY be fired by Ken himself.

The entirety of the rifle, surface and interior, is imbued (as in baked into the metal itself) with a system of nano-feedback relays, that activate via contact with Ken. This rifle will ONLY activate for Ken, because

1. The Spiritech components of the rifle have "chosen" him, and

2. The rifle was modified for these nano-feedback relays to activate upon contact with skin that has been laced with nanobots.

These nano-feedback relays can transmit information between the Revolution Rifle and Ken, and vice versa. This information could be absolutely anything; chamber temperature and remaining ammunition count, targeting and shooting solution information, etc. This nano-feedback relay also interacts with the symbiotic implants wrapped around Ken's musculature (as well as his other vital organs), and enables the rifle to actually control Ken's arms and legs. In concert with the rifle's automated guidance systems and external sensors (wind, velocity, barometric, etc), it ensures that Ken cannot miss a shot, almost regardless of the distance or velocity of the target. Like any sniper rifle, it is much better-suited for long-distance targets.

There is a very small scope on the top of the rifle, that does not look as though it would be practical...but it is because the scope is not meant to be manually peered through. The feed through the scope is instead directed via the nano-feedback relay directly to Ken's retina.

Originally, the rifle was designed to use a battery to form hard energy slugs, which it would then fire downrange. The rifle has since been modified, due to the scarcity of energy ammunition in the 21st century; it can now (in addition to the energy rounds) fire .308 caliber sniper rifle ammunition (it fires these rounds via a built-in magnetic driver, making this rifle essentially a railgun) of various types; the ammunition this rifle fires is all specially-crafted by Ken, and includes everything from pyro/cryo ammunition, to silver rounds (with a magnetically-active metal core, since magnetism does not affect silver).
