Description
I'm feeling usefull. Anyway, I created it because I was board enough. At some point I'll do the second part. The animation. But not now ... too much effort. Also, I needed something to get my ID off the top spot.
Edit:- I added a "This is what it should look like now" thingy.

Not bad for a start, but I think it would help make things easier if the body, hands and eyes were all separate layers, allowing for easy editing when moving on to the animation stage.

Yeah, I normally do that. Though really I need to redo parts of my tutorial because I've actually changed parts of my tute.

Yeah I do do that now, along with colouring lines that I havn't mentioned either.
I'm not sure what I wrote made any sence >____> I think I was half anoyed/asleep about the fact that I had to rewrite the comment about 3 times because my internet hates me. >__>

Yes, that happens. What I do is hit CTRL+A and CTRL+C before sending the message (select the comment text and copy it). That way if the message fails I don't have to rewrite it.

Yes, that why I only had to rewrite it three time, instead of about 6. U_U

This has helped me tons. But can't you just fill in one (medium-dark) color in the circle, and then use color dodge (the tool)?
Here's mine that I made from this tut:

Look at the one before that. As you can see, a huge difference in quality.

Interesting Tutorial... I coloured mine a little different.. working backwards. I coloured in my entire emote with my desired base colour and then worked towards the highlight using my pencil on "screen" mode.
Question... when I zoom out again, this little critter looks rather small even on the 50 x 50 ... is that normal?

He should be about the size of the one in the preveiw really, I should put one with what it should look like zoomed out at the bottom.
Everyone colours differently. I've seen many differnt ways. I adapted this one from one I found somewhere.

Excellent thanks for the response...
I stole one of your emotes.. the grey one that jumps and waves his arms. I used it to study it on animation. I really hope that you continue with the tutorial especially in two areas: 1) Animation and 2) The use of objects like pens or flags and signs.
I am not a Windows user and thus I do not use Photoshop. I am using the GiMP. Animation is rather simple there.. each layer = 1 frame. Though I admit I miss Photoshop terribly.

You did what!?! *faints* No really, it's ok. I am going to exstend the tutorial, defently for animation not too far away from now. But Items and stuff might be a little while, after I break up from school proberbally.
Though, for the animation I use the simple Each layer = 1 frame thingy too, you can do it otherwise but it's so much harder.
You can use photoshop on apple compys I think.
