Description Recovered from his wounds, Soap is cleaning weapons in preparation for Modern Warfare 3. He has a Maori tattoo on his left shoulder and a Scottish shield and lion on his back. "Non Oblitus" is the MacTavish clan motto - which means "not forgotten".

The clan motto reminds me of Ghost. Why, oh why did they get rid of such a badass looking character, I'll never know.

Why does he have a maori tattoo? There is much love here. So. Much. Love.

because the maori were also warriors. and more importantly... their tattoos look bad-ass.

...but... most races have people who are warriors... Indeed! I'd go with the badass factor! ^_^

thanks and you're right. i just figured they'd change the hair - if he's "on the run" you'd think he'd want to try and fit in.

"Not forgotten"

Sounds fitting for both him and Price.

a friend works at the shop that does all the tattoos for fictional video game characters and he told me.

That's awesome you have a friend in that field! But now I'm curious. If he has done a tattoo design for Soap, how come we never see any signs of it throughout the game? I feel like if you're a game company paying someone to make a design, or a concept that will be utilized, you would have it shown at least once. But it's been awhile since I've played, so maybe I'm dumb and just forgot.

haha. actually i was being a smart-ass. i was exercising some creative license with Soap - i have no idea if he had a tattoo or not - i just thought it looked cool. and then i got a bit frustrated with all the comments/questions about his hair, his drinking, his tattoo... but on a positive note - you are not dumb nor did you forget anything.

Oh yeah...I don't blame you for getting annoyed -_- There's nothing more annoying when people are pointing out details like that instead of commenting on the quality of art you produced. The grown out hair is actually VERY believable and I was honestly surprised they didn't add that concept to Soap for MW3.

And hey, I appreciate a smart-ass. Keep being cheeky! We need more cheeky people out there!

Interesting but I doubt he'd be cleaning his weapons while drinking, bad idea.

i agree that this shouldn't be used as a PSA for gun safety. but an imaginary operator with SAS training, experience and familiarity with firearms could handle a few fingers of scotch while cleaning an unloaded weapon. even though he's fictional - my guess is that Soap can handle his booze.

Kekeke.... Soap is getting ready to yet score another record in killing

I have thefeeling that during MW3 both Soap and McTavish will still remain hunted down by both Russian Ultranationalist as well as US Forces.

I know, I made an error. I ment to write Captain Price. For some reason Mactavish just slip to the line instead. I must have been typing without thinking very carefully on it.

Indeed. Then again it may also make the story more convoluted than it already is. @_@
