Description
After I made my Cycles of Life, DGMN4EVER gave me an idea I could do a "type chart" for Digimon and I thought about the elements in Frontier. There are ten elements and since I prefer to work with elements than "species" like it was in the Story games (such as Dragon, Holy and Aquatic), it gives me a lot of fun of making possible match-ups and which are opposing against.

I prefer calling Mercuremon's element being Metal, because Steel is one of many alloys of metal. But he seems to be more in the lines of mirrors and the Ancient Warrior AncientWisemon is more a wizard. Maybe the Steel/Metal element is more inline with alchemy, which fits him.

Clockwise: Fire (or Flame) - Light - Wood - Earth - Water - Ice - Darkness - Metal (or Steel) - Thunder - Wind

The Circle line references how the neighboring elements are providing each other such as:
Fire gives not only warmth and heat, but also glows as a Light source.
Light gives nutrients for Wood (and Plants), which is done by photosynthesis.
Wood got stabilized by Earth, providing soil for plants to grow healthy.
Earth filters Water, when rain falls on the earth. However water takes some minerals, becoming groundwater.
Water freezes to Ice by cold temperatures.
Due the absence of warm light, its colder in the shadows (Ice - Darkness).
Machines/Computers (Metal) can be misused for cyber attacks and dirty stuff (Darkness). At the same time, we can cover our true identity as "protection".
Machines are fueled by electrical energy (Metal - Thunder).
When Lightning strikes while the Wind blows violently, we got a thunderstorm.
Wind is moving air, which is caused by the sun (Fire). Another possibility Wind and Fire working together is winds fueling the fire, making the Flame bigger. But: Strong winds can blow the fire out, so it acts as a opposite as well.

Some elements are opposing each other, such as Light and Darkness as we know from the show. But what's about other possible opposites which actually can't exist without each other?
Light opposites Darkness (Yin and Yang)
Fire opposites Ice (Hot and Cold, I prefer to see it with temperatures)
Water opposites Wind (Sea and Sky, which are realms which can't touch each other. Only with Earth as the Middle)
Wood opposites Metal (Nature vs. Technology, but some technology can be helpful without harming nature and some natural forces can be used as fuel for technology)
Thunder opposites Earth (Lightning got grounded in the Earth and can't cause harm. A better explanation for this pair may be energy. While Lightning is strong, yet fleeing energy and can't last long; Earth stores energy and gives stability)

I know, some pairs aren't perfect such as Thunder - Earth (one-sided, since Earth grounds Thunder), but it kinda fits in the Elemental Circle since certain elements are helping others, while others have to balance certain ones without getting out of control. And... Every element shares the same origin/source and the Source can re-emerge when all element are united as one.
