Snowflakes! w00t! ...and posted before Christmas... I'm impressed with myself, lol.

14 different snowflakes made (repeats were made but only to give to people who don't know each other ...I hope 
). I would've liked to make more, but material limitations prohibited me from exceeding 5" diameter snowflakes, not to mention time and the fact that I was doing this during finals week instead of studying. all patterns came from a book given to me by a friend last Christmas, 99 Snowflakes, published by Leisure Arts each snowflake was individually hand-crocheted (by yours truely), starched, and pinned until dry [link] After all that and after these pix were taken, they were turned into ornaments by adding stringMerry Christmas!

If you can knit (and I know you can!), picking up crochet shouldn't be too hard at all. There's more stitch types, but they all follow the same general concept (differing only in the number of yarn over's/pull throughs, unlike knitting where knit and purl are more complementary than similar, there's yo's, k2tog's, dpn's, etc.etc.). I also think crochet's a whole lot faster than knitting (for me at least).

Oh I just simply adore crochet motifs, there is so much you can do with it, you're only limited by your own imagination.
Yours look really good and neatly done, the stitches are perfect. Ah, this brings me nostalgia, the photo is like the ones I've seen many times in my mother's books, you did a good job all over, miss. :]
