Well, I had to make a blog entry about this two-parter, because there was certainly a lot that did happen!
We had the first G1 MLP villain make an appearance as the main baddie, Discord's friendship being tested, an epic final battle, and Twilight finally getting her own kingdom!
And of course, this episode most likely upset quite a few Fluttercord fans when Discord decided to betray his friendship with Fluttershy for being his evil chaotic self again... But it all worked out in the end, right? Discord learned his lesson, and Fluttershy forgave him! And that is more than enough to keep this Fluttercord fan happy!
But enough about me, what were your thoughts towards this season's ending?

It was jaw dropping when Discord gave into temptation to join Tirek only to be betrayed. The way Fluttershy cried at him inside that cage

I knew he would not but would see a new side of things when he powers were taken away. Like I said above he is a very caring character and was vulnerable to be taken advantage of. That is because he wants to be liked and accepted even if he knew something would not be good for him.
Seeing him that that bubble while completely defenseless and broken hearted was very touching.

While I was seeing how Tirek was sucking all his powers, I had a disturbing mental image of a live and darker alternate version that made the scene worse: Tirek later fatally wounding Discord!
That look on his face was almost like what I drew in the Pirates of the Caribbean parody Discord teleported into with the CMC that went wrong once a human stabbed him and had to return to Fluttershy to nurse him back to health!

Oh my. You know what I thought of when he lost his powers made me think back to season 2 when he made his own friends defenseless for his own selfishness. It really made him consider how selfish he was in doing that.

That was my worst fear cause Tirek was stronger now and the way Discord looked when losing his powers was like "death"!
You mean when he was turning everyone grey? And when he gloated in Keep Calm and Flutter on making Fluttershy angry and throw the skates he gave her!

Yeah when he turned them against each other and then took away their horns and wings.

All of this epicness makes me want to go back to playing my toy stories again! Since I was a kid I have always played and thought these stories with my toys including theme park plots/concert specials like the Sing along song videos only with a mix of non Disney, Broadway and pop! My most recent ones have involved the ponies going to Disney and after their adventure they finalize singing at Cinderella's Castle. The other one is at Universal that involves Discord meeting Harry Potter witches, Smaug, Falcor, Draco the dragon, Toothless, JP dinosaurs, and kids dressed as Despicable Me and Frozen characters. I will include Lord Tirek for the showdown at Poseidon's Fury where the Hogwarts witch OC faces him to the tune of LOtR's "The Bridge of Khazad Dum" and gets killed in front of the Frozen kids and baby dragons who will cry "NOOOOOOOOOOO"!

He was cute even when Tirek manipulated him. Did you see that look on his face? That is the kind of personality that I need in a relationship.

Yes I think so too in terms of Fluttercord.
It broke his heart because if you remember he took away their abilities himself in the premiere of season 2. I think that made him realize how selfish he was and that those gifts and talents were what make the girls unique.
I especially loved it that Discord was the one who gave Twilight her key after she finally opened up to him.

Oh man, I loved it SO much. Tirek was crazy awesome and super intimidating and having so much focus on Discord was just.....aaaaah I love Discord so much!
I loved it, even the drama of Discord betraying the Mane 6 (hey, I love drama! Don't blame me). Heck I didn't even mind the Dislestia nod at the end (oops im a multishipper)
If I had any complaint, it would be that i think the rainbow ponies look kind of stupid, but fanart will change my opinion probably after a few days.

I loved it! I didn't know what was gonna happen to Discord until the end. For some reason, everyone else has a problem with him even after everything that's happened in the episode.

It was killed when Discord gave flowers to Celestia.

No worries I mean the one time he gives her flowers, remember he was dancing with twilight closely in "three's a crowd" but that didn't mean it was romantic. So I agree that he gave her flowers as a token of forgiveness. Remember, tea with fluttershy, I think that counts as a date

He just apologised for betraying them, while whole episode was developing Fluttercord. He did give 2 bouquets, remember? One to Celestia and probably second to Luna. Is that mean DiscoLuna is canon? Besides Celestia is shipped with Sombra in comics wich was approved by Meghan so even if Nicole Oliver and Amy Keating Rogers like this ship still everything depend on Meghan and she seem more between Twicord and Fluttercord than with Dislestia

Oh please!, don't feed the CelesCord trolls, it was just gesture for all the troubles he cause to her kingdom.
Besides, it has been a rumor that they might had have something in the past, lets suppose that gesture was a hint for a future flashback in the next season that involves them both, then that gesture would means he's making peace with her, and whatever happened between them both, I didn't saw it as a gesture of love, I saw as a gesture of friendship and making peace.
Seabreeze gave a flower to Fluttershy, a flower that was actually really important because it turned out to be one of the key, does that means Seabreeze had feelings for Fluttershy?.
Don't let that part get you, because now the CelesCord are going to cling on that little thing to claim cannones, when we have way more moments for our shipp. In this very episode we could see how devastated Fluttershy was because of Discord betrayal, and how she was the first one he apologized to after he come through.
Btw, DF, I'll love a fic of them reconciling after this episode, we all know reconciliations can be most romantics, who could write such a wonderful thing I wonder? *looking were you're standing* ;3
