I like how pencils give width variation based on pressure. And they go thinner than pen.
i'm gonna tell you that twenty bucks and a trip to the art store is all you'll need. They're cheap, so failure is an affordable option to say the least, haha. I've been drawing for 3 years on pretty much the same set of materials.
Lol. Yeah, a window works, too. But my house has small windows since its old. And it was nighttime when I made the tut. XD;
Yes they are. Y_Y I like them up to the first knickle joint.

Hooray... I have twenty dollars! Thanks so much for making this tutorial... it's really "opening my eyes" to the graphite medium.

you are so methodical in your technique. i'm all over the place. i can never make a tutorial on shading. i have not method of how i do it. it's really nice seeing the steps prior to your final pieces. your effects alwasys look so much different and smoother than mine, not to mention cleaner.
good work woe. keep 'em coming!

XD Omg, Jaded, tahnk you - your pencil work is amazing! *blush* I'm really freakin' methodical that it's sick. XD; I kinda often wish I was more loose to get more sketchy/dynamic effects.

i leave in all my initial sketch lines, for the most part. i can't be methodical even if it kills me. i've tried. which is why i can don't think i can ever make a tutorial. i'd confuse the heck out of myself, and everyone.

XD I find the easiest way to write is to write how one would talk. ^_^

As do I.
In grade school, I would be told by my teacher that it was incorrect and I wouldn't ever be able to get my meaning across. Nor write.
And now I am going to major in writing xD; ♥ So please do keep on with that style. :3

Lol. Well, this is more care than I usually do. On average, I don't add in the B shading unless the picture is really special - and even then, sometimes not at all.u realize why my pics take 10 hours on average.
ANd lol, now yo
