Description
Art is a dry well, and the muses' tongues are not wet with instruction.
Cracking lips are licked to speak,
and a parched pen thirsts eager for ink,
and repeatedly the well-bucket lurches down the shaft-
After so many dry returns,
the sense of frustration is almost poetic.

This is gorgeous. I'm suffering a similar thing at the moment - I'm currently going through the application for university and it's really draining me poetically! But I do love the irony, writing a poem about writer's block

Thanks A lot of times I'll think I have writer's block and then get hit with inspiration. The writer's block written about in this poem is now ending, ha. It will probably be replaced by more as soon as the poem I'm currently writing is done.
Also, thanks for the fave!

Almost ???
Think one is meant at such times to go to the well, as you have done here, and fill it.
The ones that seek the easy path, are the ones that take from an overflowing well...

The "almost" was meant to be ironic- basically, "I have so few ideas for a poem, I feel as though I could write a poem about it." Not the most original idea, I've seen a few similar ones on dA, but it gave me an excuse to write
That's an interesting thought, filling the well yourself. I've found it isn't that easy, poetry that is written without inspiration is usually cheap and weak. Some are capable of making their own inspiration, I suppose, but that's a rare talent.
I'm not quite sure I understand your last comment, about the easy path.

Think that a bit of struggle to come up with an idea, often leads to more interesting work being done... Those that only do, when the conditions are perfect... often it seems, are only able to create something akin to cliche.
And I'm one that believes, at least some of the time - LOL - that there is actually nothing that is completely original, that the best one can do, is to give there own take on a theme.
And did an image titled "Filling the Well of Dreams" [link] which I admit is not a great work, but might like...
