Outer space is awe-inspiring. The sheer vastness of it; every star you see is many times bigger than our home, tiny planet Earth. The mysterious and powerful presence of black holes, supernovas, and pulsars. The immense number of galaxies, each containing countless numbers of stars, which in turn could have planets of their own. All of that feels like it is just waiting, no, begging, to be explored. And yet, when we gently float into dreams of colourful nebulae and exploring all the universe has to offer, something seems to be lurking behind all that beauty. Only one ill-fated rock striking the window at immeasurable speed can turn that dream into a horrible nightmare.
