Description
The lone arches had been there for as long as he could remember. Now the home of small sea life, rather than the civilization that built them long ago. What they used to lead up to must have been swallowed by the ocean, for they ended abrubtly. Amnis didn't know why, but during his travels across the vast oceans, he kept feeling the pull of this place whenever he got close enough. It was like a calling, but what was it that kept calling him there?ΒRelated content

The water effects here are totally wicked, both the surface of the water and the water reflections on Amnis and the background arches. The background arches are also generally a very nice addition that gives a feeling of depth. I really like the placement of things here with the closest arch mostly cut off and how it therefore frames the pictureΒ
Beautifully done!

This instantly reminds me of Zora and the water temple boss in Twilight Princess. XD I like the angle though, and how the background is both foreground and at the back, with such a simple thing creating the impression of vastness, it's an interesting concept. Also the lilac plant (?) seems kind of rare, what might it be...?

I did actually come up with Amnis' design shortly after clearing TP's water temple.
I really loved the aesthetic there, but the design of the Zora was a bit uncomfortable to me, so I wanted to capture a similar overall feeling, but with a design of my own.
Everything you see there growing on the arches was referenced from photos of things growing on the underwater part of piers, so I can guarantee you they exist. I have no clue what they are though, and I can't find my reference for them either, but life on those things can be really awesome. Just look at this:Β www.padi.com/blog/wp-content/uβ¦

Thought so, cool! Personally I've always liked the idea of the fish tail hanging from their heads, and you were developing your own character instead of a fictional one to the franchise, so that's understandable. I have to admit Farrvaarh is also born from Zelda, even though she has gained other 'inspiration sources' over the years as well. Β
That is so full of life and colourful! Reminds me, I just borrowed a shipwreck book from the library which has so many interesting photos. It's about the Baltic Sea, and what's special about it is that some of the rooms appear almost as if frozen in time, which gives you a good look at the ship's time, as apparently the organisms that would wear away the ship (like in oceans) don't flourish in the brackish-watered Baltic Sea. And some of the photos so strongly resemble the Sand Ship in Skyward Sword, I can't but gasp!

Yes, my favourite images are inside Aachen. (That's what reminds me of Skyward Sword XD) Originally in Swedish (Vrak i ΓstersjΓΆn : fΓΆrlorade fΓΆr vΓ€rlden): www.amazon.com/Shipwrecks-Baltβ¦ , it's strange the product details say it's in Swedish but the description reads it's translated. Read somewhere that it was supposed to get it's English translation in 2008, so I guess it also is in English, at least. ^^ But if you come across it don't hesitate to peer inside! Β The many images are presented as if you were one entering the room/standing on the corridor, some taking up the whole paper. It has strong sense of depth sometimes quite eerie, as there's blackness on the background, and strong shadows. It could be great for art purposes as well. ^^

wow, so pretty! and you create some great sense of depth with those arches, their colour darkening and shifting to blue and such Β

Update: I've started playing subnautica today, and I love it so far! Haven't come across something that resembles Amnis yet, but I have come across a leviathan and that was super cool!
