I wonder how many of you even recognized this as something by me, it's quite different from what I usually make, but I wanted to make something a bit more symbolic.

This is not meant to depict any specific issue, but (political) polarization in general. It saddens me deeply to see people lose sight of each other and of themselves, depicting the other party as evil, lazy, greedy, whiny, delusional... until they have created a horribly extreme version of the other side that they can use to justify their own rage. Both sides tend to do this to a point where any constructive discussion is made almost impossible by the accusations being thrown back and forth. It happens to pretty much every controversial topic, and it is deceptively easy to get sucked into.

I wish people would be willing to actually listen to each other. See where others are actually coming from. Try to understand why they might feel that way. Give each other a chance instead of immediately assuming the worst. Instead of going into the conversation with the sole purpose of trying to convince the other, make finding a solution based on common ground the goal of everyone. Many people believe things with good intentions, or are simply ignorant or scared without intentionally meaning harm.

If only we could all seek to understand and educate instead of pointing fingers (or worse) at each other, the world would be a much better place.
