I had to make a tutorial for class, so yeah. Do keep in mind everything I say in here is stuff I've done. You're not a bad artist if you fall into these traps, you just have to teach yourself to be aware of them.Related content

Whoa,
the beginning scared me a little at first,
but when I read through it, it actually surprised me.
Because the things you've just listed,
are exactly the things I've been noticing with lots of young OC creators.
Most of them want their characters so desperately to look good,
that they mostly forget about making them actually interesting,
or memorable.
It actually kind of made me feel good to read this,
because there is so few people adressing this issue, that I thought I just had a bad taste when I would see these mistakes in OCs on regular basis.
I know it's weird being glad over something like this,
but I just wanted to tell you,
that I'm glad that I am not the only one seeing these mistakes. c':

It WAS rough, but it helped nonetheless. One needs to be made aware of this kind of pitbull no matter how hard it is on the ego. And thank goodness I'm not one tof let ego get in the way.

It's something that will block any creative mind. One must have the confidence to create despite what others say, but humility to be accepting of when people point out a flaw that needs to be fixed/changed. A balance that can be hard to establish for many.
