Description
After getting Manga Studio 5 EX, I've been practicing with it before applying it toward any commissions. It's one of the reasons I've been so quiet recently. I'm feeling more and more comfortable with it and plan on opening commissions very soon.My big test with this new software is creating a two page comic from my favorite scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakes. If you've seen the movie, then you pretty much know who's going to be appearing on page two, and I'm so excited to start on that one.
God, the Anakin lightsaber was such a headache to draw. Mainly because I'd find reference images that contradicted other images. I'm pretty happy with how Kylo Ren turned out, but I do wish I had made him a bit more lean. I know he didn't have the cloak part on during the fight, but it just looked so cool that I had to put it back in, after initially taking it out.
I'm making this as part of my Patreon project. On there, my patrons are getting regular updates on the WIP for these comic pages. It's taking slower than normal, because I'm still learning and trying new techniques.Β It also helps spread the word when people re-blog my art on Tumblr.
I hope you enjoy it, and comments are always welcome.

Great, great, GREAT rendition of this scene! I really should try the Full Version of Manga Studio. Looks a lot simpler than using Photoshop! xD

Nicely done and good job with the facial expression.

Thanks.. I enjoyed the expression work. I hope to bring the same to the next page, because Daisy Ridley has such amazing expressions.

Love the face in the bottom panels. Really captures the ohshit! of that moment.

I took some liberties with that part. I wanted to capture the confusion of that moment.
