This is a test I used to try and create a new 4koma using the downloaded demo if Corel Painter 11.I have to say that so far I'm not too impressed. It comes across as a bit too much like an art software. While that's great if you intend to mimic a painting or such. It is very cumbersome when just trying to do simple graphic work. Just trying to make those angles in the "X-Men" logo was a headache.
My previous Paintshop Pro vr. 7 would of made this a lot easier.
This Corel seems pretty great for making textures. I used the sponge tool to make that cool texture in the soil on the ground. This software just doesn't seem to work for what I'm going to need it for.
Once this demo is done I plan to try out Photoshop. It's just a $100 dollar difference. This doesn't look bad, but it seems to take twice as logn as it should have.

...now that I think about it, without the script/word/bubbles this comic could be very sketchy...not that it kinda isn't with the words

Well, when you have a character who is suppose to be paralyzed. You can't have her moving around.

Great pic! But what exactly is happening? Looks like cyclops touched emma's sweet behind while she was out and she knew via her telepathy, lol

Emma is currently paralyzed, but slowly she's feeling things. Sort of like when your leg is asleep and not everything wakes up at the same time.
Cyclops has been feeling up her ass for a while now, despite that she can't feel anything.
When she does feel it she brings it to his attention that shes knows what he's doing now. He thinks she will be mad for taking advantage of her. Really, she doesn't care and wants him to keep at it.

Still looks really cool though. It's like this though, Photoshop is always gonna be the mac daddy of digital art programs to me. I think it's simple and has just what artists need, and is much more versatile. But that's just me...
I don't know what 4komas are really, but I like the X-Men, so I will follow if you are going to keep doing these. Really cool!

It came out alright. It just was far more complicated then it should of been.
I just always see that major comic artists have both Corel Painter and Photoshop. I think I know why now.
4koma is a Japanese term for a four paneled comic.
