Description Pulled from a new file on my computer, my WTF file. I put exploratory doodles I decide to keep in there.

For future reference, "exploratory doodle" means I started putting lines down on the canvas that turn into abstract shapes. Then I look at them and see if I can get any images from them. Sometimes I'll get something I really like. Like this thing!

It ended up looking kinda like a placoderm to me. Then as I expanded on that it started looking more like something belonging on land. So now it's a terrestrial placoderm.

And there you have my profound thought process!

Kinda alternate evolution, isn't it?

I like the scale structure, very cool.

It seems like a great idea to play by me!

Maybe put some heave scales around the neck?

How do you mean, about the scales? Because wouldn't they hinder movement in the neck?

Yeah, if you continued the bony plates down the neck might get tricky. Mind I'm not sure that they had scales, placoderms that is...

Though, aren't the bone plates supposed to be for muscle attachments as much as protection? That'd probably help a predator. Maybe enough that they wouldn't need a really flexible neck.

I'm sorry, by the way. When you said scales I thought you meant the plates. That's my mistake. But, scales! Yes, maybe. Though I don't think that scales would look quite right on one of them.

I'm not sure that they are for muscle attachment, as placoderms had endoskeletons. They were basically fish.
I think that some of them did have scales, but that is rather beside the point as this is a creature of your creation!

Yeah, but I know if I had these huge, sturdy plates of bone covering my head, I'd want to use them for muscle attachments. Besides, they would probably need some heavy muscles to support that head on land.
