A full view of my bearded axe, 25 inches of steel and hickory aged and worn. The head is engraved knotwork similar to the artwork of the age and the shaft is burned with an old Norse proverb in the Long Branch variant of Younger Futhark,

Hvars þú böl kannt,
kveð þú þér bölvi at
ok gef-at þínum fjándum frið.

Where you recognize evil, speak out against it, and give no truces to your enemies.

Meant as a one or two handed Viking fighting axe, the bearded blade is designed to hook on shields and rip them from an opponents hands. I have always loved the Norse myths and was finally inspired to make this axe by the new assassins creed game.
