i have a question (do forgive if the answer was obvious) umm u say u do a copy of the sketch um there is the problem of having it come out the same (for me), the question is do u do the sketch them do another for the painting?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
FranciscoETCHART In reply to Dhylin [2009-03-30 10:53:46 +0000 UTC]
I do the copy to paint it because the original drawing is always in bad conditions to be painted. I mean, the lines are dirty and the paper is too thin.

Lovely tutorial. I found some colour pencils the other day and I'm looking up tutorials to get ideas for what I'm going to do with them

Yes.
I also thought it would be nice of me to tell you why I favourited your work, instead of just randomly adding it and leaving no comment.

life saver. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
just a quick question, when you transfer from the original pencil sketch to a thick paper what do you do exactly? are you using some kind of graphite paper to trace or are you redrawing it on the new paper?
appreciate the input.

FranciscoETCHART In reply to YasSmash [2009-03-11 10:23:22 +0000 UTC]
I redraw it with a fine, clean and soft line made with the mechanic pencil. I do it with the traditional method using light from the back, for example a window

YasSmash In reply to FranciscoETCHART [2009-03-11 10:32:28 +0000 UTC]
So If even if the paper is thick, the light will still be sufficient enough for you to see the sketch through it? Sounds cool. Now I know I don't need to buy a light box...for now.
thanks so much. Really great help

I had it but I reduced my gallery sometime ago and I deleted this drawing, sorry, specially cause it was a character from a friend, it wasnยดt an original character of mine.

i have a question. When you color in the skin how do get the flat feeling do you lay the pencil on the side?Or do you hold it as if your writing?

Really helpful and revealed to me the secret of your gray shadows on top of the colors =O
haha I'm not a great fan of hairs too, sometimes I get undecided about colors or the style to color..
The truth is I don't really like to get too detailed on hairs, that's why I tend to make short haircuts lol

Muy bueno, tengo ya varios aรฑos que no pinto con colores tradicionales, y esto me trajo recuerdos, algo que podria servir es si usas el blanco o algo parecido para generar highlights y crear mas contraste.

FranciscoETCHART In reply to reiq [2008-10-14 17:07:53 +0000 UTC]
