Description
Betrayal on Utapau! A unit of Clone Troopers and support AT-RT disembark a Republic Gunship in the Pau City Staging Area ready to join the fight against the Separatists in the Battle of Utapau… Meanwhile Clone Commander Cody is contacted personally by Chancellor Palpatine and instructed to ‘Execute Order 66’.This is the beginning of the end for the Republic, the start of the dark times… the rise of the Galactic Empire!

Say what you will about the prequels, the next few scenes were heartbreaking

Yeah, the prequels definitely weren't Star Wars at its best, but it was cool finally getting to learn all the story points that made up the Skywalker saga. Yeah, the Order 66 sequence in RotS was shocking and really moving... they could've made an entire movie about Order 66 and the Jedi being hunted across the galaxy!

Yeah, it's hard to believe after getting to know Commander Cody so much more in the Clone Wars animated series. I really love the story line about the renegade Clone Troopers who refused Order 66 in the second season of Rebels!

Aw, you should try and get into it dude... Rebels is outstanding. I'm enjoying it even more than Clone Wars (and I really loved Clone Wars!) The Rebels series 1 finale blew me away = 1 of the most Star Warsy things I've ever seen outside the original trilogy (and with over 35 years of being a massive Star Wars geek that's really saying something!) I don't think it goes way off the story line... it's set 5 years before A New Hope and the powers that be at Lucasfilm have said that it's canon!

Is that the 1st gen Republic Gunship in the background? There will be a new one this year in the summer

It's the second version of the gunship - I didn't get the first one. I was kicking myself over it for a while then the newer, better version came out. I'm itching to see the 2013 version - I'm not sure how much they can improve on the last one though.

You're lucky to have any version. I still want a Republic Gunship, but not sure about the 2013 version. Not too much improved over the predecessor.

Good thing about the new one is that it has cooler and better detailed minifigs but the bad thing is that it costs almost 100 dollars.

News update... I think they've got the ball gunners on the sides like the first version of the gunship and it looks like you get a white Padme minifig with it, so I'm guessing it's a Geonosis Arena inspired set. Here's a not-too-great picture I found... [link] I'm sure we'll see some bigger, better images soon!
