Description
This acrylic rendering of Nightcrawler will soon receive the digital treatment once I access a scanner of greater quality and size. Layered experimental textures will create haze of rain. I have taken this potential addition into consideration by painting a translucent shower of white raindrops on the character's shoulders and limbs.
Nightcrawler's religious devotion and turbulent history were the primary reasons I chose him among the repertoire of characters I'll be painting for fanexpo. Unfortunately, my interpretation does not communicate these as well. It became more of a detailed character profile on a marvel trading card. Perhaps this experience will lead the artistic direction of my character line-up toward stronger originality.
