what does blocking the layer do? and this is very helpful!

i dont know why she said blocking since it is technically a transparency lock, but what it does is it allows you to draw on the layer, add new colors etc. and what you draw will only show up on what is already on the layer, like grouping the layer(or clipping mask as some call it, same thing.)
gosh, i hope that actually made sense XD

This was a great tutorial! I'm hoping to do more digital art in the future, and this is something I'll definitely be referring back to

Very Nicely done. I've often found shadowing and texturing very difficult to do.
Only question I have is what shade of purple would you recommend for shadowing then?

A purple shadow?! Well, hot damn. I'da never thought of that! I will have to remember that (and try it on my next pic). Might just make my shading a lot simpler!
