I need a little help if that's possible, I closely followed you're tutorial. But on the last step 10. When using the IK spline Handle Tool on the Joints and Follicle Curve (created step 8). Everything seems be setup now. But when I select either my mesh which holds the hair system and should hold the chain nothing much happens. Do you perhaps have any suggestions? I did freeze al my transformations and so on before binding. Turned on interactive playback (which only makes the timeline move, and wont allow me to select anything so I can fool around with it realtime... I've gone through the entire tutorial 3 times. Still it's not working... Help would be highly appreciated!

Yay! I managed to get it fixed! I even created a Start and End point of the chain... Thanks for taking the time to explain this, helped me allot!

Very nice tutorial. I tried it with a script on highend3d called "createChain" and just made it create the chain on the hair curve. Worked well.

The only problem I've been having is the hair transform constraint doesn't seem to be working like it should - the hair/chain doesnt actually stick to it (even though the glue strength is on 1)

This looks good, I will have to try this.

DA needs more good Maya tutorials, so keep up the good work!

I am new to Maya, and I was wondering if you have any good resources to share for help learning MEL? Any books or websites you could recommend would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a really good book, but it's in Russian and I'm afraid translations don't exist but MEL is similar to any other scripting language, so if you're familiar to one, all you need to know is syntax and commands so use F1, and I envy you 'cause all the documentation written in your native language

and 10x for I think I'll do some more tutorials when I find an interesting topic

Thanks for the info! I have a lot of experience scripting in Java and all the ActionScript languages, so that's reassuring to know that I won't be starting completely from scratch. I can understand what your code does when I read through it, but I think it will be a while before I comprehend how to write such code myself.

Oh well, thanks again for a great tutorial!
