Description
Damn, this is big.Super big.
It took longer to upload it than to do it.
I'm doing this one first because more people requested it. But I will do a lineart tutorial too.
Hope it helps!
Elisa belongs to me. Please don't use without permission.
*edit*
1) I made a mistake. The option is not "Combine Visible", it's "Merge visible".
2) The program I'm using is Photoshop CS3.
3) For those who asked, I did this with a mouse. I know it looks difficult at first but with practice coloring one character with this technique can take less than 15 minutes.
Para la gente que pregunto, si me queda tiempo, lo hago en espaΓ±ol.
Sorry for the edit >__>

I realize this is quite old and therefore you have a different version of photoshop than I do (and are most likely no longer even checking this account) - but my photoshop doesn't have a bucket tool? This is the entire reason I'm having a hard time coloring anything on photoshop!

Maybe is a stupid question, but how do you do the lineart? Vectorizing or...? I'm totally nooby on digital art! >.<

In this picture I used the pen tool (Photoshop)
These days I do the lineart in SAI

This is amazing! But can I please ask what the heck do you use to outline drawings in photoshop? I cant figure it out! I tried the normal brush tool but its almost impossible, I dont get how people are doing is so smoothly and clean without a stabilizer! (Like in Painttool Sai) Ive been having this problem for a year now and I STILL cant figure out how ppl are outlining things so good in their photoshops, I doubt its my tablet.. (Which it is super cheap and half broken) Can you please tell me what tool you used or maybe where I can find some settings so that the outlining is more easier like Sai?

You mean the lineart? I use SAI for that.

I saved a copy of this onto my Flash Drive. I want to begin using Adobe Photoshop in the future, and this will help me out GREATLY. Thank you for this, on behalf of those who have taken this lesson to heart, which will soon include myself.

DraconiaSilverwing In reply to gabzillaz [2012-09-23 16:56:02 +0000 UTC]
I'm not really sure, but it seems I messed up the layers or something... You see, I ended up coloring the skin and the hair in the lineart layer, but I imagine that can make things even more difficult. I still don't understand what I did wrong...
Besides, I'm really bad at using the pen tool.

gabzillaz In reply to DraconiaSilverwing [2012-09-26 14:18:25 +0000 UTC]
That happens, don't worry. Try creating a new layer and put it below your lineart layer.

This is really good. I've been having trouble with my coloring and I used a coloring page as my lineart while using this tutorial and so far it is going really. Well, I'm having trouble with shading, but I've always had trouble with that. Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
