Damn, this is big.Super big.
It took longer to upload it than to do it.
I'm doing this one first because more people requested it. But I will do a lineart tutorial too.

1) I made a mistake. The option is not "Combine Visible", it's "Merge visible".
2) The program I'm using is Photoshop CS3.
3) For those who asked, I did this with a mouse. I know it looks difficult at first but with practice coloring one character with this technique can take less than 15 minutes.

Well, that was a nice tutorial, but not a good one, I mean if we have to make all the shapes our self, and things like that, why don't use the SHAPE too and make the shapes and stroke it with with 2px or 4-5px???

This is a great tutorial, i'm learning alot and experementing a little with the tips you've listed in here. I'm favoriting it so I can come back to it. Sitting and doing the coloring in my newbish fashion takes hours for me. So... yeah. Gotta keep it around for later.

Thank you for making this tutorial, it has helped me a lot (this is what I have been able to make with its help so far). I didn't even know of the existece of Gaussian Blur, Pen Tool and Gradients before seeing it. Even if I still have no idea how to make beautiful curves with the Pen tool, the blur and the gradients have been of great use.

Big question. I can't seem to make lineart like you pro's. I've tried pen tool before, but I end up having NO clue what I'm doing. Even with tuts, I don't understand why/how you make it so smooth.
So, how do you do it? And this tutorial is alot of help. Hey, it might be big, but its informal and it tells you exactly what you need to do.

Amiga! tengo una duda, emm...es que termine un dibujito coloreado en photoshop cs3 (que por cierto use tu tutorial, me sirvio mucho^^) el problema es que cuando lo quiero subir a dA no puedo, no me aparece la imagen ni nada, simplemente lo que hago es guardar mi trabajo de photoshop ya terminado y asi como lo guarde lo intento subir a dA, estoy seguro que algo estoy haciendo mal, pero no se que xD, espero me pueda ayudar con esta duda que tengo.

wow! so cute! this is a very helpful tutorial even though whenever i try to do coloring, i still don't get the shadow part and using the pen tool. GAAA--i'm such a noob when it comes to coloring

Hola, soy nueva en esto de colorear po photoshop y me parecio que el tuyo era bastante claro, pero tengo una duda, cuando coloreas con el barril, por ejemplo para colorear la piel, ΒΏpones la capa en color o en normal?
por que yo lo poingo en normal y se me tapa todo, quiero decir que no se ve ven los rasgos (ojos, nariz, boca...)
