Description
This is a quickie tutorial I did last year for instructables.com, but i forgot to post it here. So, here it is.The only measurements on it are the ones for the cuff portion and the length of 20g wire to start with. I did that because it's supposed to be a freeform ear cuff. This is just a suggested swirl pattern. Really, the only important part is getting the cuff portion correct so it fits. The rest is all up to your imagination.
If you use this tutorial, I do have one request. If you post it online, come back to this page and post a link to your work in the comments so we can all see what you made! Pretty please!
You can find more of my free tutorials on my web-site, www.WireJewelryTutorials.com/fâŚ
For those of you who aren't sure how to wear ear cuffs, here are instructions for how to put one on:

Do you generally shape the wire after it's been wrapped, or just before?

I was waiting to go to town and buy wire, so I started making simple ear cuffs out of coloured paper clips. Surprisingly, it actually worked out very well. Nice tutorial, I can't wait to try it out.

I'm confused... the 28g wire is thinner than the 20g?

Yes. Higher numbers are thinner. Like ear gauges, an 8 is much smaller than say, a 2.

I made one! Just so lucky that the wires i needed just happen to be on my bed side table. Though there the only wires i own. I understand how they cuff works (i had a small clip one for a year before i got my fifth ear peircing) but i just cant seem fto get this one to fit on my ear! but heres a link. [link] the image is horrible cause i took it with my phone.

Looks cute from what I can see
How are you shaping the cuff? Are you making it more of a U shape or a C shape? (C shape holds better). I usually do mine by making a full circle out of it, then opening it a little bit so that the gap is about 4-5 mm wide. Hope that helps.

Oh i wore my old one much higher on my ear and it just didnt register with me that i needed to move it lower. . . but i used the fat end of my round tiped pliers. it makes a u shape. i made a seperate one for my self with a different design to wear to school and about five people want to have one! one happens to be a complete stranger! i am so glade you submited tge toturial because i love making the cuffs.
