Description
This is a very overdue present for who wrote the wonderful Duncan fan fiction one shot, 'Fall Into Him' that inspired this painting and who so kindly recommended mine and olivegbg s own story 'The Narrow Path' to her friends. Without her it would have died a slow death in obscurity instead of surviving in semi obscurity. If you want a spot of adventure, romance and a new angle on old tales, look no further.I experimented wildly with this which perhaps isn't a good idea when working on a gift. However, I'm oldish but not necessarily wise.
As reference to test the poses I used XNALara and the models of Duncan and Leliana kindly extracted by Berserker79 I also used brushes from
Duncan belongs to Bioware and Juniper belongs to Jaden.

I love the gaze Duncan throws at her, so sweet. I'm not a fan of blue and red together, it makes me feel cold, but I'm a fan of experimenting and of challenges
I hoped the small tribute to some of your characters I put in my own story could support yours, but I'm surviving in semi-obscurity too

Jaden came on board shortly after we began Path. I have owed here this for a very loooooong time.
Blue and red makes you feel cold. Good! The idea here is that Juniper should look ghostlike and cold whilst Duncan's spirit (or memory) is warm and life like. Juniper died a little when he did.

Done, now I know who Juniper/Ryiah is and I can appreciate your piece of art at full. I love it, judging from the way Duncan looks at her she must have been his blessing, or better, they must have been one another's blessing, her ghostly pallor describes even too well how she feels now that he's gone

I really like the elf and the variation of strokes. You do need to follow up the light of Duncan's nose else his nostril is kind of floating in space. His eyes are extremely small and spaced too far apart(I know they are in-game it's up to you to correct it). I don't know if the mimicry of the hands has any significance but I really like them! Hands are bloody hard

Ha, Duncan's nose is so epic it has its nostril as it's own satellite. Yes I need to tweak details of the picture and I'm not entirely happy with Duncan but I needed to take a step back to figure out exactly what I didn't like.
I wanted a kind of formal hand pose indicating reverence as much as grief. I kept thinking of old religious statues. Glad it worked somehow.
