Miraculous Pair: Not so much a pair, but considers himself part of a miraculous group of sorts. The Fairy Tale Family, to be specific. All of them are holders that theme themselves after storybook characters, like Little Red Riding Hood or Puss in Boots.
Typical Heroism: Low scale stuff. Likes to save little kids from drowning in lakes and stuff. Tags along with the other fairytale kids when they gotta do things, though.
Hero Theme: As per his little group of holders, his whole hero theme is based around a storybook character. Specifically, the little mermaid.
Kwami Type: Atlantic Cod
Miraculous: Tongue piercing - the design changes to a sand dollar when transformed, and each little “arm” of the design flashes away as the timer counts down.
Tool: Fish tail - instead of something he can use as a weapon, Eric’s tool is the ability to turn his legs into a fish tail to better swim around in the water. Combine this with the passive ability to breathe underwater, and it becomes a very versatile tool.
Special Ability: Poor Unfortunate Souls - upon using this special, Eric is able to steal someone’s voice and use it himself, just like the sea witch from The Little Mermaid. The person he’s stealing from will be unable to speak, and Eric will only be able to speak in the victim’s voice until he gives it back to them. Once he gives their voice back, his timer will start counting down. This ability can be especially useful if another holder’s abilities require them to be able to speak. Unfortunately, Eric's not too smart about using this. He might just hear someone say something cursed and revoke their speaking rights.

Personality:
    Eric is a lovable sweetie who’s partial to theatrics. He’s kind to his friends, overly emotional sometimes, and rather fun loving. Not only that, but he will do anything to help a person in need, whether that’s comforting them and giving them a shoulder to cry on... or physically protecting them from a bully because he’s a big athletic guy that looks like he could snap them in half like a twig.
    In the guise of Havfrue, he’s… pretty much the same. He’s the same lovable guy, who genuinely just wants to help and protect people, but just a touch more theatrical. Probably also the kind of dude who likes to make a little girl’s day by pretending he’s a real mermaid.
Background:
    Eric was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and pretty much lived there his whole life. His dad owns a company that sells canned fish, and he’s made enough to live rather comfortably with his wife and two kids. However, that is a very humble way to put it. It’s a miracle that Eric didn’t end up spoiled. During his late teen years, when Eric wasn’t spending his time at swim team practice, he was sneaking out to lend a hand at the factory. He knew enough about how it all worked that he wasn’t a hindrance. Of course, word of this spread quickly. After all, people tend to talk when they have the honor of working on shift with the CEO’s kid to haul in fish. While his father commended him for wanting to help, he also wanted to keep his son’s safety in mind.
    This didn’t stop him, of course. For Eric, this just meant he’d have to get creative.
    Eric kept showing up to help, but usually with jobs that require lots of help anyways, so he could easily blend in with the crowd. Things like hauling in the nets in the morning. That’s how he found Hanns, actually. He was helping haul in another catch when a little jewelry box tumbled out of the net full of writhing codfish. No one else seemed to notice it, even when Eric picked it up and stuffed it into his jacket. It was not long after that he had to flee back home so his father wouldn’t find him. And when he opened the box, he found… a tongue piercing. A piercing one puts on their tongue. It wasn’t something he was into, so he closed the box and just left it in his room for the longest time. Eric forgot about it until the night he was accepted to college.
    His friends and him wanted to celebrate, so they ended up getting drunk. He doesn’t remember much of what happened that night. Mostly just walking around town and watching movies and all that. So it surprised him a bit when his friends brought him home and he woke up in bed, feeling something caught in his mouth. Sure enough, in his drunken states, he’d gone and gotten his tongue pierced with the little piece of jewelry he’d found in the ocean. The speed at which Eric got up out of his bed, sticking his tongue out to get the piercing further away from him, and ran to the bathroom to wash his mouth could rival an olympic runner. Of course, he never made it to the sink. You can thank Hanns for that.
    The first thing the little bugger did when he showed himself was cuddle up in Eric’s hands because he was cold. Not sick or anything; just cold. So Eric got him a little hand towel as a blanket before being told what was going on. Turns out, the little thing in his mouth was the reason he was seeing Hanns. He’d fished himself a miraculous out of the ocean, and now he had a little fish kwami and new powers to get used to. So the following night, he decided to try it out. He snuck back out to the docks by the cannery, transformed, and leapt into the sea.
    Eric had the night of his life, and soon a new hero was born.
    Eric went off to college at the end of the summer, having to fly overseas to a university in Chicago. He’d managed to make it in with an athletics scholarship for swim team, and was fully prepared to immerse himself in whatever culture America had to offer. Instead, he found himself in the company of all kinds of new friends. Havfrue had made a new home in Chicago, alongside plenty of other storybook holders.

Brief Kwami/Miraculous History: Hanns has been passed around from holder to holder, but was lost in the seas of Copenhagen after an unknown female holder took his miraculous and used it to save a man from drowning. She threw herself into the sea after the same man married another woman. Hanns’s miraculous was lost in the sea after she died, and remained so ever since 1837. Eric came into possession of the miraculous after somehow fishing him up out of the sea.
Kwami's Personality: Hanns, in simplest terms, is baby. He loves cuddles and snuggles, and is much like a very affectionate cat in that sense. He’s also a really curious kwami, sometimes stealing people’s forks or hair clips just to try and figure out/see what they are.

Eric’s hair is naturally blonde! He dyed his hair red after going through a phase in middle school, and… accidentally used permanent dye. Now he’s stuck like this.
He keeps a big fish tank in his dorm for Hanns, partially as a place for the little kwami to chill and have fun, and mostly so he can try and pass off the little bugger as a pet fish. Yes he’s dumb enough to think that will work.
The sand dollar on the tongue piercing is a reference to Atlantic Cod being predators of sand dollars.
The tongue piercing is also a reference of sorts to the original story of The Little Mermaid. Instead of simply giving up her voice like in the Disney movie, the sea witch cut out the mermaid’s tongue in the original story.
Eric, being from Denmark, has a Danish accent.
He's pretty good with speaking English, but occasionally forgets words. For example, he still doesn't know the English word for "cat", so he just calls them miav miavs(miav being the Danish equivalent of the word "meow").
Donte calls him “Prince Sidon” and Eric’s embarrassed at how fitting the name is.
