Description
Now this... THIS character has been in production hell for the longest time. Pretty much has been since we first decided to give people 2 myth character slots instead of 1.
Enjoy the herbo!

Name: Helga Mienna
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexuality: gorls
Height: 6’6”
Location: Finnmark, Norway - Europe (The city varies, considering her dad’s profession)
Motivation: “I’m a strong, 6’6” teenage girl who spends most of her days helping tend to horses and reindeer. My life could be a little more exciting.”
Miraculous Pair: Jormungandr, another of the monstrous children of the trickster god, Loki.
Typical Actions: She's not inherently evil, as she does good in some small situations when she can, but she does take Delight in scaring away/fighting people who trespass on the land her dad uses for herding, regardless of why they're there. She’s basically a well meaning Scooby Doo villain.
Holder Theme: Costume-wise, she takes quite a lot of inspiration from Saami clothing. Overall though, she wants to emanate norse myth energy.
Kwami Type: Sleipnir - the 8 legged steed of Odin in Norse Mythology, and one of the children of the trickster god, Loki
Miraculous: Earrings (when active, the silver jewels inlaid in the middle glow blue, and the metal takes on the appearance of damascus steel)
Tool: Arms - The user of the Sleipnir miraculous gains two sets of artificial arms, one under the shoulders and one on the shoulder blades. They’re simply just clothing stuffed with hay that can be moved at will, but they can push and pull and punch things with the strength of real limbs. They’re also strong enough to allow the holder to carry up to 6 people(one in each arm).
Special Ability: Steed of Odin - By activating this special, the user can choose one of these three effects to take place:
Land: No terrain is rough terrain. The user can traverse over unstable land, from an extremely steep incline to a boat caught in a storm to a ground shaking from an earthquake. They can’t traverse anything that is steeper than 90 degrees. So while they can walk on walls, they can’t walk on ceilings
Sea: The user can walk on water as if it were solid ground, albeit rather flexible solid ground. Along with this, the user can traverse under the water just as easily. This is possible through an increased ability to hold their breath underwater combined with a newfound ability to swim really fast.
Sky: The user can now fly. While the image of a big buff horse miraculous holder flying off into the sunset is a rather hilarious image, it’s still a fairly useful ability.
No matter which effect she chooses, her speed also increases rather exponentially. Once one of these abilities is activated, the countdown to detransform will start.
Personality: Helga is the definition of a himbo… er, girl himbo… herbo? What I’m saying is, she’s a big, muscly girl with a big heart to match. She’s loyal to those she deems friends and just overall one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. A total mom friend.
Sleipnir, on the other hand, is rather mysterious. She barely speaks, and when she does, it’s to intimidate people into running away. Sleipnir rarely ever fights people, and mostly relies on frightening people with her mere presence if anything. But when she does decide to fight someone, it usually means they pissed her off big time. Sleipnir is also rather protective, of both her land and those she deems her friends.
Bio: Helga was born as the only daughter to a Norwegian mother and a Saami father. While her mother had a horse ranch on the edge of Alta, her father traveled quite a lot. That’s usually how it goes when your dad herds reindeer for a living. Helga always heard stories from her dad when he came to Alta during the summer, and she finally got to travel with him when he went back north one autumn to experience it all when she was 9. Helga was excited as they brought the reindeer through numerous pastures, rode in her father’s sleigh with Aggi(their one draft deer) pulling it along the tundras, and slept in the laavu once the day was over. Suffice it to say, she loved it.
When Helga was older, starting when she was 14 or 15, she started going back and forth. During the summer, she’d help her mother tend to the horses. But starting in the fall, her father had her actually helping with the reindeer herding. It was his way of sharing his culture with her, and keeping it alive. From tending to the deer, to figuring out which pastures to head to in which season, to taking care of the calves that came around in May. Helping her aging father was still as joyful as joining him that autumn so long ago when she was small.
Then it happened.
When Helga was 17, her mother and father decided that she was to stay back this year. Helga protested, but her parents wouldn’t relent. Helga was so upset, but ultimately, she couldn’t do anything. She didn’t even find out why. Not until she eavesdropped on her mother and father talking in the other room. Apparently, vandals were to blame for her having to stay home this time. They’d injured quite a few of the reindeer, broke one's leg trying to ride on its back as a joke, and one of them even cut the antler off of her father’s best stud deer. And to top it all off, this was accompanied by one being spray painted with something she wished she’d never heard. That made her feel sick. Vandalism was one thing. Harming innocent animals just to harass a saami man was another.
Helga decided to do something and went to help her father the next day. They kept the reindeer on a nearby island for the summer, so it took a bit to get there by boat. She washed the spray paint off of one’s fur, tended to the broken leg of another, and cleaned the wounds of a great few. It was while she was in the middle of cleaning the stud deer’s broken antler that she saw one of the babies trying to eat something in the grass.
“Ack- baby! Det er ikke noe for deg!”
She ended up yanking something rather unorthodox out of the babies mouth. It was a pair of earrings. They weren’t rusted or anything, but no one had ever been on those islands. No one but her and her dad and his family. She stuffed them in her pocket and took them home with her that day. She met Slippy that night, when she decided to put one in to see how it looked. The little kwami was confused and scared and… really energetic in general, actually. Like a little foal. She eventually calmed the little horse creature down long enough to figure out what was going on.
And of course the first thing she did with the miraculous was get revenge on the vandals.
They had been dumb enough to try coming back to cut the stud’s other antler off, but they sure as hell didn’t end up doing that. The giant, 6 armed mysterious figure that stood by the coral was enough to deter them. The next morning, Helga told her father about what happened. The vandals had been scared off by someone, so she doubted they’d be a problem for them anymore. Helga was allowed to once more travel with her father that autumn. That’s where Helga’s villainy started.
And then abruptly ended, because she soon made sure to distance herself from the villains associated with Hawkmoth.
Her reputation began to build around her the further north she went with her father and the herd. A mysterious figure who’d frighten away (or personally fist-fight) any non-saami person who dared trespass on what they considered saami land, regardless of why they were there. Her dad’s herd was definitely the safest it's ever been that year. The innocent and not-so innocent people who just happened to get too close to them?
Thanks to the woman who called herself Sleipnir, not so much.
Kwami's Favorite food: Any kind of grass or hay, he’s not picky
Brief Kwami/Miraculous History: The Sleipnir miraculous was widely used during the age of vikings, having been used in the case they couldn’t reach some place by foot or by boat. Slippy looks back fondly on these times… up until one of his holders died at sea. The earrings were left to rot with him, up until they washed ashore on the islands the Mienna family used to keep their reindeer over the summer. Helga was the first to find them for a long while, thanks to one of the reindeer calves digging it up on the beach and trying to eat it.
Kwami's Personality: Slippy is a hyper boy. He’s like a newborn foal, always zipping around in circles and prancing like the sweet little baby he is. He’s also a rather confident kwami, given his unorthodox appearance and extra limbs. In short, he’s a confident energetic boy who will personally fight anyone who’s being mean. Regardless if they could feasible kick his butt or not.
Other:
Helga is fluent in both saami and norwegian. She doesn’t know a lick of english, though.
Her hair in civilian form is actually really soft. Her hair in holder form, however, is rather coarse like a horse’s mane.
She wears her red scarf in both civilian and holder form.
Though her clothes aren’t entirely traditional in shape, they’re all traditional sami colors(blues, red, whites and yellows). She likes them that way.
Slippy likes to hide in Helga’s hair. It’s soft and warm and nice.
Yes, she’s aware that she looks like a buff Elsa. Please stop saying it.
