Description The above piece is still another Heisei-influenced effort to color a second concept piece from the original Tri-Star Godzilla film project. For more information regarding said project, feel free to check out (a) the rant accompanying my first submission ( [link] ), or (b) the following websites: ( [link] ) and ( [link] ).

All things considered, I regret not having a larger version of this pic to work with; hopefully the original artist's exquisite rendering isn't totally obscured by compression and my hamfisted photo-edit coloration.

Again, cred where cred is due:

Godzilla (c) Toho Co. Ltd.

Original concept artwork(c) Ricardo Delgado.

Slapdash colors (c) yours truly.

Thanks, but keep in mind all I did was add some color to this piece. Google 'Ricardo Delgado' for some more recent scaly goodness from the TRUE artist.

Still, the color was impressivle done, in my opinion!

I love the pose more than anything...the turn around flip of the tale and deployment of the frontal talon, as if to say to some pursuer "Oh...you want some? I want some too!"

I think he's looking down, indicating a smaller foe, like a platoon of soldiers, or Matthew Broderick and some DGSE baddies. Was that the intent? If it's to go against something bigger like Kong, I figure he'd be looking up.

It is a he, right? I know so little of the lore.

Very nice! The color is just as good as the last one-the eyes in particular stand out here.

Much obliged for the vote of confidence, Scatha.

The coloration doesn't obscure the drawing at all - the only thing that seems to suffer is his mouth, and that's because its full of so many small details. It's a damn good job considering what you're working with.

Thanks for that endorsement, Ty...and in this case, the lack of resolution on that maw was indeed driving me up the wall. Truth be told, it was some time before I got the brilliant idea to glazing those fangs with some ivory.

....and I love how big Ricardo made G'94's fins here. btw: what media are you using here?

A humble photo-editing program by the name of PhotoImpression 3; I wouldn't be surprised if that fails to ring any bells.

This dorsal array and its companion in the previous pic are one of the many aspects that make this design my hands-down favorite Gojira concept. I actually find it difficult enough to choose between 'em that introducing the conceit of sexual dimorphism (larger fins=male, robust build+less pronounced dorsals=female) is tempting from time to time.

I too am liking this Toho-traditional gray scheme more and more. Hmmmmmm....

the eye color scheme really fits with the gray coloration

That red-and-yellow does form quite a contrast with this guy's otherwise charcoal hues. I was shooting for a degree of elegant ferocity (not to mention a connection with the later Heisei suits...although Hedorah sported the same optic hues).

Nice – the eyes look particularly vicious in this color job.

Well, almost nobody conveys saurian fury like Mr. Delgado....hopefully the hues I slapped on those peepers seem to complement that aspect.
