Ok, let me explain the meaning behind the title. You really can't understand it just by looking at this photo what the title means so here it is. During highschool I ran cross country, and the location of this photo is at a place I used to have cross country meets at. I'm in college now and I don't run cross country anymore. Over this summer, I came to understand something. Running to me was something that I could be proud of in my life, something that others could respect me for since I was good (well good for single A highschools lol).

Staying in shape is a good priority, and I intend to keep that up, but is it so bad that I don't feel running is so important to me as it once was since I do a lot more art now than I did in highschool? My understanding is this: if I found something that can replace running, in this case art, I shouldn't be ashamed I'm giving up something I was good at. Art has seemed to replace and take over anything that I lost by not running. Like I said before, running was something I could be proud of, but now I feel that art is something I can be proud of, something that not a lot of people can do, or understand. It has sculpted my life so well becuase I'm appreciating a lot of things I haven't noticed before.

That brings me to this photo. I have passed by this location so many times through my entire life. I never saw the beauty in this scene you are looking at until a few weeks ago. All that mattered was waiting for the right day, and to be honest, it couldn't have turned out any better than a day like this. 2 years ago, this tree was nothing but a marker on a cross country map that the runners had to go around, and now, it has become an object in a composition of art. Should I feel I lost a part of me (running) after looking at this? Say what you want, but I think not
