Decided this one was good without any text, and yeah, this isn't one of those shout it out things that everyone has been doing either lol. I got a ton of pictures from the concert to submit so enjoy the next series. This is the lead singer of the band Pillar who are a Christian hard rock type band. Yeah it's a hard thing getting used to, I used to be all like, Christian rock? That's stupid lol, but now I'm just a little more carefree, and more accepting of certain genre's in music.

Yeah they did that wrong at the concert, people seemed to love it. I'll have to give them more of a listen, I don't know hardly any of their songs lol.

Great capture, though a few things bug me:
the bassist and the background are clearly visible.
it would be better imo if you could make that grayish area where those two things are darker to put more emphasis on the singer.
My eye wonders into the gray...

Yeah that's true man, but I guess I just wanted to keep the originality of the picture. It's a little odd that the background turned out that visible cause the focus was on the singer and you'd think the 1.8 aperture would have corrected that, but I guess not for this time. Thanks for the honesty Jay

Well that is true, 1.8 is shallow, but only when the subject is close.
It becomes less effective at farther distances, and by the looks of it, you were a good 50-60 feet away from the subject, giving you around 2.5-4 feet worth of sharpness. The bassist looks just slightly out of that.

Yeah I thought about that after I posted the comment, cause I was a pretty far ways away from the guy so that most likely explains it. Oh and just for future reference the guy was actually playing the electric guitar ^^

just for the sake of saying it, i wonder if it'd be more effective to either shoot only the singer or have the rest of the band in the background. but that'd be a different picture all together.
i think the tilt works well, with the angle of the lights.
