Description
As I promised to some of the people here, I'm releasing the first tutorial here.This is the tutorial for how to do soft cell shading on Photoshop, based on my experience.
The version of Photoshop used in the tutorial is 6. If you use later versions, names of tools/modes and/or allocation of shortcut keys might be different.
I'm working on Windows, so if you use Mac please change these notations as: Ctrl to Command, Alt to Option.
I just hope it helps you.

hey thanks for making this
its a much more effective way of applying lighting and shadding to a picture the i've been using > >;
its also an easyer way to colour in general
(usually has everything coloured on a dif layer making it too complicated)

Ah, if only I could afford PhotoShop, digital painting would take only hours instead of days. XD Then again, I should really practice more often. I should buy PhotoShop with my graduation money!

uhmmm... ima trying it rii now, but wen i ma doing da shading part and grouping, it shades outta the lines like as if i didnt group it. it say (undah layers) Group 1. then it goes down and "indents" the layer called "shades" then its a reg. layer of base colors and da backround, and da lineart is of course, on top of ot all. my problem is that wen its all grouped, likein ur pix, it still colors outside the lines... can u pls help me wit this?? thanks alot in advance <33 sorry 4 da long letter loll

I'm not really sure what's happening, but one thing I think of is that the shading layer is not properly grouped. If you use Photoshop CS or later try Ctrl-Alt-G instead of Ctrl-G for creating clipping mask.
