Glerk, kinda rushing to post this before I leave for the week! If there are any serious errors here that I missed, lemme know and I'll fix 'em when I get back! No complaining that there's no background though... that's purposeful, it's just too much damned admin!Otherwise yah, elite speakers... fun stuff. I would imagine most people don't find it too hard to type actual sentences, so I've never really understood why this language is so popular! XD
Apologies if yeh do find this comic offensive though, but I doubt yeh should. FTW eh? : D

By shooting 'em in the back you can see who they are at LANs when you don't know.
They usually swear loudly. Last year at Rage they were a pair of 10 year olds. 0.o That was the most surprising ever.

The L33T language came from hackers. Internet Watchdogs had trackers for keywords of conversation on parts of the net where they believed hackers dwelt. So the Hackers started replacing letters with numbers and thus the words wouldn't get picked up.
The hackers then started using the talk in chat rooms and online games so that enemy players woudn't understand what was being said.
Then some idiots figured out the language or were taught it and thought it made them cool, so they started using it all the time.

Heh, I suspected people would be lecturing me on the actual origins... thus using the phrase "It is believed..." rather than stating my comment as fact.
Anyways, I was just looking for some sort of claim that I could use in the cartoon, and I didn't have a lotta time to look around so I went with the Wikipedia entry on the subject... I dunno, it might have changed by now but yeh can check it out and correct 'em if needed!
