Description
My latest endeavor in Nerf painting, this is the result of a 6 month-long project in painting a Nerf EBF-25 Vulcan gun. I used the Citadel Colours (made by Games Workshop) Mithril Silver, Vermin Brown, Catachan Green, and Chaos Black, Krylon Black spray paint, and Model Masters Insignia Red and Flat Black. This one took me quite a while, due to me having to devote my time to summer things and getting ready for college, but it's all done now. Look at my earlier deviation Revolving Pistol for a more in-depth look at the steps behind it, but essentially I took the thing apart, spray-painted each piece individually with Krylon, and carefully brush-painted as I went along.
However, there were a few issues. One, the Chaos Black and the Krylon are a few shades off each other, so the touch-up places look 'off', which I will fix when I can get around to it. Secondly, due to having been required to move the pieces everywhere, there are a bit of scratches in places where I painted, but, nothing a retouch can't fix.
I'm happy with my work, but I think I could've spent a little more care in storing and making sure the colors lined up more. Also, the gun still works as it should, it'll sling darts across my hallway (and at my dog) just fine. I may decide to paint one of the dart belts this thing uses as a 'presentation' belt, to mimic brass casings and all.
Anyway, I hope you like it, as it will be the last Nerf gun you'll see from me in a while, me going to college and all. I hope you like it, and if you have any questions/tips/etc, just Note me.

Thanks! I might sell it a couple years down the road.

Yep this took you forever. Haha "summer things," a handy phrase to describe "getting my uptill-now pathetic self into shape for ROTC. And yes, yes it is, although I'm not modifying photos in GIMP, I'm making artwork from scratch, which is not its intended function.

It's worth the time, though.
Well, true. Still.

Very detailed and very impressive. I think the photo itself turned out better than the other one too.

It's a shame you can't really get all of it on one photo, but the compliment is appreciated nonetheless.

Do as I do with 3D work. Take multiple shots of the piece at different angles, and put it all together/fix the colors on Photoshop or open-source Gimp.

I don't have Photoshop on my laptop, and from what I heard from Mark, GIMP's a pain in the ass.

Worth a try. I'm not sure if Paint Tool SAI has any photo-editing capabilities, but I heard it was good.
