Because there have been some people who asked how to add gallery CSS i made this simple hm... tutorial/walktrough today in between. Hope i didn't miss anything *is a bit hectic*Tell me if it's usefull or if there is something wrong. Or if there is something else you want to know about gallery CSS stuff.

This is a comprehensive tutorial that even beginner and intermediate users can find extremely useful, especially in the quest for originality in the sea of default devART pages. It was easy to read, well designed, and just plain helpful. As a user who has been eager to use all the functionality of my premium account, I took to wading through walkthrough after walkthrough; some were good, but not great. ^ginkgografix , however, happens to have filled a void with all her tutorials.
If ever you're lost in the abyss of coding while trying to create that perfect profile/gallery, this is a great place to start.

How would you do this for the newer version of DA?

You go to a custom folder and click on "folder option" at the top right. A new window will pop up and there you have a section for the description code (if HTML is needed) and a tab for the CSS code to add.

It's not called "Folder Options" and you can only find it in custom gallery folders, NOT the favourites one (the one that is there by default).

Photobucket is always a bit confusing. These days i would always recommend Sta.sh, as images will be hosted on dA that way.
Looks ok to me, just the image isn't the best for the background as it repeats with borders and makes it hard to read text on it D:

At #eCSSited there are tutorials about how to create seamless patterns, maybe take a look at those? Not sure which program you use, but you should be able to get it done with any.

Um, no idea if you did right or not
But unless you have some backgrounds and fancy colors in your gallery, you might have been successfull

If there is no download button for a skin deviation, it is not available for the public, but only a design.
Otherwise i still don't know what you mean.

Hello, I read through this tutorial and followed the instructions. I uploaded the images, replaced them in the description and try to edit the CSS on the folder gallery, it's just that keeps telling me there is a style block missing and I'm not sure why. I am a bit confused.

You need to tell me what skin you are using or send me the code you have used. Otherwise this is too vague to give you any kind of help.

It was just this one. I uploaded the images to photobucket and put the URLs in the code where it said to, it's just that it keeps giving me a "missing style block" error.

to the CSS code section. Are you doing that? If yes, it should go to the description area(where you write down your usual text, the first tab). If not maybe send me the code you have added to that CSS section. Than i should be able to tell you what exactly is wrong
I got it to work with your help though thanks. 
The gallery skin can be found in my gallery though.
i followed every of your steps~ (i wanted to install your pink passion gallery css)
now it says 'missing: style block'
