Description Photo/Paint: Myself

Model/Conversion:
I'll be up front with you and say that the original conversion was bought second hand. When I got it I stripped, disassembled it, and redesigned it based on the original inspiration.  Once I settled on it being a Pyrovore, I opted to use the small Scything Talons in place of it's original arms.  They are meant to account for the tusks at the end of the actual Pyrovore's acid cannon.  This bad boy is 95% metal and is HEAVY.  After a little research I've figured out wtf I've got here:
 - 2nd Edition Tyranid Hive Tyrant (upper torso, front body, front legs)
 - 2nd Edition Tyranid Biovore (head, cannon)
 - 2nd Edition Tyranid Lictor (hind legs)
 - 3rd Edition Tyranid Warrior (thorax)
 - 4th Edition Tyranid Hormagant (Scything Talons)

Keyword: Hive Fleet Cetu

10E Update:
With the launch of 40k 10th Edition comes a new "official" color scheme that embraces the black and purple. There are lots of us out there now, and it seems the hive mind noticed us! So, while I have enjoyed running Hive Fleet Megadeath all these years, they will be absorbed into the newly minted Hive Fleet Cetu.

I don't think I've ever seen a metal model converted to such an extent, color me impressed.

certainly!  as long as one doesn't model "for advantage" it is encouraged.

you can paint it ANY WAY you like! color scheme has no bearing on how the game is played at all.

There's no limits or rules at all on color, save for the ones you make for yourself if you want the model to generally be taken seriously and fit with the setting, be it as part of a canon faction or your own DIY army. Beyond that, it's your models, there's nothing stopping you from making space marines into walking Jackson Pollock paintings of pink polka-dot and rainbow if you so choose.
