Description
The primary infantry weapon used by the Royal Solari Marine Corps in the 31st Century FSI. The AF22 uses electromagnetic induction to propel a crystalline bolt of tridintera at varying speeds depending on the specific type of bolt used and the settings on the coils. The 20G6 armour-piercing bolt, for example, is 6 cm long and fin-stabilised, able to be propelled to 2,200 m/s. The magazine is similar to the P90's, but it feeds upwards and is almost entirely contained within the stock. The left side of the gun has an open hatch through which the magazine can be ejected and then reloaded whilst the right side has a buffer to lock the magazine in place. It is roughly evenly weighted, as the heavy barrel and coils in the front are counteracted by the magazine and capacitors in the back.
