Description
Here's the final page of the first issue! What does Albion's loss mean in the grand scheme when Eggman has the Genesis Wave up his sleeve?
Yes, I'm still keeping that master plan in the comic, only things may play out differently this time... 
Do you readers expect to see major changes to Mobius? Will Sonic team up with Mega Man again? How will Mecha Sally factor into this? I've also enabled the "Request Critique" function for this page if you want to review the issue as a whole. I'd love to know what you think.CREATOR'S NOTES:
So now that the first issue is complete, let me give you some general notes. First, let me thank all of you who have stuck with the comic so far. While it took months to draw, I wrote this issue in only one day. I was pumped for this project and had the basic layout already planned in my head. The purpose of this issue was to introduce Team Fighters and the echidnas while wrapping up Endangered Species. Although ES was originally planned as a four-issue story, I disapproved of the concept to begin with. To me it just seemed like another unnecessary obstacle in Sonic's mission to retrieve Sally and I wanted to get it out of the way as quickly as possible. So while 19 pages might seem a bit short to liberate Albion, it's only because I was eager to steer the story back on track and move forward on the main quest. If you prefer a longer redaction of Endangered Species, Archie Sonic Online are currently working on an extended cut. Having said that, there's plenty still to do in Albion, and Knuckles has his part to play yet...
I've had a blast making Sonic Retold so far. I feel like I'm at my best when drawing this comic and my enthusiasm for more pages is strong. Production on the second issue is currently underway, but the truth is that things have been slow for one simple reason: I'm short on cash.
Low funds means that I spend more time making a hard living than drawing the comic, which really bums me out. However, you can change that. So far, I think this is a good continuation. However, the whole death of Komi-Ko thing kinda bothers me. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind having characters being killed off in a comic. But the gruesome way in which it was done seems a bit too dark in matching the tone of the original comic. Obviously, I'm ok with your continuation ignoring the old mandates placed on the original because they were mainly pointless and hampering towards good-storytelling. Let me put it this way. The Sonic comic, while enjoyed by people of all ages, was mainly made for the younger crowd. Would you want your kid reading a comic with something that dark in it, especially when it doesn't seem to mash up with the rest of it. Just saying, you might want to watch how dark you make this thing. Either way, I look forward to your future writing.

Hey, congrads getting the patreon page up.
I've been reading the Sonic Retold Story since it started last year, and for the most part, I've really enjoyed what you've been doing. The last page, page 18 at the time of writing this, kind of hit a sour note for me. I'll get into why in a bit, but just to be clear, I'm an amateur at best and I mean no disrespect.
The artwork is excellent. It really does match up to the artstyle used during the end of the pre-reboot run, while softening the shading a bit. No complaints there. I'm also curious as to what software you use.
As far as the story goes, I loved the build up and Lien-da's opening speech was amazing. But the fight scene that followed, just didn't measure up to it. I didn't notice it at first due to the weekly release structure of the pages, but when I saw Lien-da reporting to Eggman, it really dawned on me how easily Sonic and Team Fighter beat the Dark Legion. THE DARK LEGION, the main antagonists for Knuckles for most of his solo comic run, the guys the the Chaotix and the Freedom Fighters had to team up against during their invasion of New Megaopolis, and Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Remington beat them in what looks to be under five minutes. I know that's probably a rant, but it kinda bugged me. I reread the whole story so far and it really did go by too fast, even by Sonic's standards. Basically, your battle scene needed more meat to it.
I did however think the tragedy of Komi-ko's fate was well placed, and a good reminder that the good guys don't always win. Well played.
I'm still interested in how your Sonic story will pan out, and actually inspired to try writing my own. but please, work on your fight scenes and try to make villains look like viable threats to the heroes.

Thanks for the input. I use Photoshop for the text and layout, but the majority of the artwork is drawn and painted in openCanvas 5.5. I'll have more info once I prepare a tutorial later this month.
As I mentioned in the description, the reason I didn't want to drag the battle out much longer is because I wanted to tie up this loose end quickly. It's a plotline that shouldn't have involved Sonic in the first place, but I'm adhering continuity and using the material I'm given. I still understand your criticism. In hindsight, I had a couple of ideas I would have liked to include, such as Amy having to break through the main door of the theater and giving T-Pup a larger role in disabling the security grid, but these changes would only have resulted in a couple more pages at best. The weekly release schedule does affect the perceived length of a scene, and I didn't want readers to grow antsy over a protracted battle.
Look at it this way: The liberation of Albion is just the opening battle of a movie. It's a brief and effective way to introduce characters with a bang, but it's not meant to be the meat of the story. There are plenty of other characters I need to introduce and various plotlines to address, which will take more time. The second issue is longer than the first, so perhaps you'll get your fill as I begin to deal with the main substance of Sonic Retold. I appreciate your fair and insightful feedback and hope you'll stick around for more.

Not much of artworks has nothing to criticize negatively (expect of tiny details), and this piece of art is one of them. The background of Eggman's room among with the holographic computers and side lights of lamnp we can't see - it is so astonishing! Not to mention, how many details can be seen here, on screens, while it is not really necessary for the rest of room in this case.
About characters: facial expression of them were done great - they shows their current emotions perfectly. As well as their poses, which are being the best in case of what happens on this page. While the face of robot and the fact of that it is a last page of current chapter keeps a big intrigue!

play the 'I am The Eggman' in the background, this comic is AWESOME and I hope that when Eggman's plan does happen it just mixes the two timelines together into one

Not sure why. Some reason the first thing that came to mind when he said "I am its god!" was him becoming all powerful, but also being doomed to be Robotnik from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Therefor having all the power he could ever want, but being too stupid to use it right.
