Aaaand we're back again. You may remember on page 2-20 that Dr. Quack was summoned to treat Naugus' illness, although the wicked king is struggling to follow the doctor's advice. Naugus may have more trouble with his mutations if he can't keep his cool.

I get the feeling Geoffrey is tied up in a sack somewhere. Whether or not Naugus can convince him to be as obedient and devoted as before, he probably doesn't trust Geoffrey enough to let him go roaming about at this point.
I'm actually really confused by the background. In panel 1 it seems like the scene is a brightly-lit place, but in the 5th the angle changes and the window beside him turns into a dark, evil hallway with ragged wall hangings(?). I suspect it was an attempt to emphasize Naugus's bout of overstrain, but it's also disorienting. I honestly can't tell if this is the same place or if you made a mistake.

Well, it's near sunset and the windows are only behind the throne, so the shadows would be relatively strong in certain niches of the room. Having said that, I did use a couple reference images and the lightning may not match exactly, so I take any inconsistency upon myself.

Gotta admire Dr. Quack's resolve as a medical professional. If it had been me I would had secretly planted speakers that play the Hamster Dance song non stop while he wasn't looking to aggravate his condition. Though it's for reasons like that why I probably don't have a medical license.

he does make a point. maybe things would be at better peace if Elias was given a chance to share the responsibilities: obviously Nagus would still be the head, but at least Elias would have his throne back, and could still get a chance to fully reclaim it. And naugus looks like he's getting weaker and weaker by the second.

I know that that's the draw back, Elias would be miserable; badguy team ups are usually the worse for the heroes: especially if they become the boss. Though sometimes you gotta be sneaky; you can be honorable, but gain the trust of the baddie to bring him down for his crimes. that's just me

Not even on his deathbed will he surrender any bit of power or control. Wonder what the council will think once they see the effect his condition is having. Maybe it'll finally get them to act.

Yeah that council. They staged a civil war, cried and complained about how unfair things were. Then turn the kingdom over to the first dictator that comes along when things get rough.

Them's the breaks when you want a democracy. Every voice must be heard, however foolish it may be. In fairness, the council were up against a wall - they let the people vote when they're scared and tensions are running high, they'll vote poorly. But they ignore the people and they'll be accused of abuse of authority.
