Looks like the dude in the front is about to have a real bad day. I don't know anything about the Steel Battalion, but this brings back memories of the classic Battletech game by FASA. Good lighting effects and blur. I likey.

I was originally supposed to put the Juggernaut on the front popping chaff, but figured the image was cluttered enough as it is without chrome-tinted dandruff dancing around.
Along with the notion that Prominence-M2's missile attack actually fires like 18 missiles instead of 6.
Artistic lisence to keep the picture clearer, also known as "lazy."

Probably better off without the chaff. And at that range, would it really take 18 missiles?

Distance doesn't really matter with missiles, as long the target is within range they deliver the same force upon detonation. Can't really start guessing about the necessary amount, but I do know that the missile swarm is a one-hit kill if you happen to be on its path.
Steel Battalion has a mechanic that makes missiles useless in short distances (under 50 meters) because they don't have time to arm, just swoop past or crumple on the armor like beer cans. This is to offset the loss of kinetic energy on unguided weapons, as cannons are less effective the farther the target.
Though an APFSDS that cannot punch through armor at 300 meters is not what I'd call an impressive weapon, but that's what you get with Battletech-mechs.
For the sake of reference, realism: [link]
Tank that did the shooting is the one on the lower right, the explosion top left is the target, and the small puff behind it is the APFSDS hitting the dirt after going right through the tank and kept on going.
(one of the most common weapons in Steel Battalion is same type as Abrams' smoothbore)

I was thinking of more distance = more time to react, more missiles = more chance of a successful hit (A holdover from my dice rolling tabletop days). Most missile weapons in the real world also don't arm for a short distance, even a grenade fired from an M203 is supposed to arm only after 35 meters. Not something I'd bet my life on, though.
Damn, all this robot war talk makes me want to get that dusty old rulebook out.

Very cool. I like the filter it has now, looks like it's being viewed through a camera or something, like one of the fallen mechs is watching. Or am I imagining that?
Anyway, cool mechs, kinda reming me of Steel Battalion.

Well reminded. Prominence and Juggernaut, hopefully somewhat recognizable.
