Description "Nearing slipspace highway entry point Hoplites Major 15-Alpha, en route to Haleon Prime. Mark arrival time in 5 minutes."

"Roger, have all hands prepare for jump a T minus 5 minutes. Double check inbound flight record for any arriving vessels."

"Stream is clear."

"Prepare to jump."

---

The fleet of 9 federal ships from the 15th, painted in their colors heads away from confederate space in routine patrol around the Haleon System. After the fall of the rogue nation, many pirate fleets and raider groups reverted back to independent fleets and flotillas working for themselves. Though not as big of a problem, occasionally they still cause issues for shipping.

The Ships are from the Centari line of vessels from the Confederate member-state of Hoplites.

Unlike the ships from the Terran federation, the Staevik Union, or the Azen Empire, the Confederacy is, by it's name, a confederation. It's federal army is made up of member states contributions of their own fleets, vessels, armies, or volunteers for the federal military. Some give more than others, but most gave the bare minimum. When the Rogue nation rose, this 'bare minimum' thought process by most inner colonies and systems that were protected by their outer rim neighbors helped bring so many military losses to the confederacy. It was created to defend against major nations, not pirates. So when the outer rim was attacked by pirates who didnt threaten the inner circle, nobody bothered to donate more ships or soldiers. There were some inner colonies that helped, but few. Hoplites and New Athens, two of the founding nations were some of the few that actually still contributed from the central colonies. Otherwise everyone stuck to themselves. Corporate shadow wars raged, and they still do.

the confederacy is a broken mess

Nice! Clean, functional Ship Designs. It's easy to Go overboard on detailing -the ships have a business like -[Warship]- look to them.Sort of Homeworld/Wing Commander style.

Thanks, but these need to be redone a tad bit. I do like simplicity, but I need to rework and detail them

Hmm...

The serene, warm-hued nebulae backdrop contrasts the energetic, cold light of the fleet's engines revving up for the jump. As the stars dot the background, a military fleet have gathered to traverse a great distance to their destination - whether for war, patrol, reinforcement, who can say? There is an imposing impression from the Federation ship design; blocky, no-nonsense, definitely built to function. Aside from these, the lighting from the engines are rather eye-catching.

Actually, I would like to see the broadsides put to work someday.

These are actually turrets, not broadsides! But I do plan on some actual combat images with the fleet here soon.

Hahah, I took it as a friendly challenge.

Well, yeah, they're turrets, but they can be utilized in a unified broadside to bring all firepower to bear. c:

They kinda look like electric shavers.

Start from the thrusters down.

The best smelling in this quadrant.

What I don't get is why some of them have those parallel lines coming off the engines. Are they lens flare? Because I don't think that's how lens flare works.
