Description
The image has it all. Though this is just standard and an example of stuff at least everyone would have on them. Lets be real though, they're gonna probably take more shit than that. More Rations, cans of chef boyardee, pornos, blow up dolls. . . . standard grunt level shit.Marines would be the same, but a box of crayons
Airmen would obviously pack spare caviar

I'm open to doing commissions now. PM me what you want and I'll let you know how much it'd cost.

The crayon meme started a few years ago, wasn't one of the jokes when I was still in. What would have been was the MRE spoon and speed loader jammed into the upper part of the webbing on their flak jackets though. Most actual field grunts would have them stuck in there since you toss all that extra crap when you field strip the MREs and you only get one speed loader in a bandoleer of stripper clips, so you kept them both up there just in case. Fun times. Nice set up btw. Only thing I'd actually suggest is distributing the PALs/MOLLE webbing on the thighs/shoulders, maybe the calfs/forearms, but that's not somewhere I ever kept gear that had webbing.

haha, Semper Fi dude. I'm a former grunt though. All about tactical spoons inside the MOLLE loops.
As for adding mesh around the rest of the body, on one hand I agree, but on the other hand I disagree. I think at a point there would be a little bit of overdoing it. But some mesh on the legs wouldn't hurt. I'd suppose there might be a few different slight variations of the armor, or armor attachments

Understandable. Drop legs are pretty convenient, but putting stuff everywhere just gets in the way. I had the required pouches on my flak, but I wore an old school h-harness under it (technically a "Y" harness but nobody calls them that) to put the gear I actually used down on my hips where I could actually get to it without chicken-winging. MoS are a bit different between branches, but 0311 in the Corps is an "Infantry Rifleman" so, Army eleven bravo. Grunts for life brah. Huaw... Hoo-ah? Who-awe? You know what I mean.Β

68W. I was the window-licking medic who passed out in the back of the truck.
Still got my hands dirty. Was with some engineers so I got to play with the c4 and equipment. Hoo-ah

Ah, C4. Best thing ever for making coffee in the morning after stand-to was over during the push. Each squads seniors would circle round a lil' rock ring with a clump of C4 buring in the middle, all our canteen cups resting at the top making coffee while the our kids went back to half & half on the line. Fun times. Got nothing but love for Corpsmen even if they are squids, they're OUR squids. I'm sure your grunts felt the same way. Oh, in case you are unaware, Marine combat medics are actually Navy Hospital Corpsmen. Hence the "Corpsman Up!" call Jarheads use instead of "medic!".

Yeah, I know the whole 'using the navys guys' thing. never understood why the marines never just made their own medic instead of using Navy corpsmen

Eh, like many things in the Corps, its a "tradition" from the WWII era. During WWII, and even Korea, it didn't matter what your MoS was, if you were in the FMF you hit dirt with a rifle. At the time, medic duties were left to the Navy as "normal" deployment for Marines was ship board detachments, usually company size or smaller. Medical would therefor be provided by the ships surgeon, and ashore, by a few of his hospital corpsmen. It never changed, pretty much for the same reason office pog's act like they have done "Marine shit" after boot camp (they haven't). That whole "every Marine a Rifleman" bullshit. *I'M* a Marine Rifleman. Says so in my MoS. But the only people you ever hear using that "every Marine" crap are pog's that only see a rifle once a year when they "borrow" one from the division armory to go to the qual range.

All i did was sit in a hot vic and maybe give an IV out once or twice. My 6 year career as a medic was pretty slow.

as a "taxi service" (mos 6153) during Desert Storm, we hauled you guys around...
goeliath : yes this would be the standard inspection look..
cuz as Hengebobs sed,, in the field ,, we as individuals carried are crap differently.. IE: i even carried a ass pack..
an since my buddy / room mate was the Doc/corpsman,, i got the joy of humping his spare gear...
and yes our "boots on ground" would be considered reservist time (one weekend a month)Β compared to you grunts..

Closest I got to storming any desert was sitting my ass in Kuwait. Supposed to go to Afghan, but as soon as we landed the trip over was canceled and I just had to sit in the sand.

Eh, had slow years with nothing but state side training, had years with back to back deployments. After my second tour in Iraq, I figured it was time to hang it up when that hitch was up. Its alot of fun when you're young. Once you get into your late 20s, pushing 30, unless you get E6 or up, its a bit much to put up with.

I hear you. I love the Corps, never was pissed about my time in. I liked it, but being out is nice. Still dig the military stuff. Though, thats probably apparent from the stuff in my gallery. Fun times though.
