Description
"Magical...Completion! This wonderful friendship we all share is worth fighting for! Magic Ranger, Twilight Sparkle!Name: Twilight Sparkle
Element: Magic
Spirit Type: Unicorn
Weapon: Horn Staff A
Mecha: Owlowicious the Owl
Bio:
* One of the most gifted minds in all Equestria, Twilight Sparkle has been studying the history of the Great Pony Spirits and the nature of Magic for as long as she could read. At a very young age, she successfully applied for Celestia's School For Gifted Spellcasters, eventually becoming Princess Celestia's Star Pupil.
* Eventually, however, Celestia requested Twilight move her studies from the city of Canterlot to the town of Ponyville, claiming that a more open environment would help Twilight learn more, and that Ponyville is a very important location in Equestria's history. Though not fully convinced, Twilight eventually agreed.
* Initially, Twilight is highly reticent to make friends, believing them to only be a distraction from the things that really matter. Even once the Team is formed, Twilight believes that they're better off not getting too personally attached and should focus on their Mission, but eventually, she comes to realize that her Friends really are an important part of her life.
* Organization is one of Twilight's best skills. She is keenly able to recognize others' talents and put them to work in a highly efficient manner.
* Growing up, Twilight always admired her older brother, Shining Armor. Prior to her joining Celestia's School, however, Shining joined the Royal Army and left home; ever since, Twilight prefers not to think about or discuss Shining, though she one day hopes to see him again....
* Shortly after arriving in Ponyville, Twilight found her house frequently visited at night by an Owl who wanted to come inside. Much like her view of the Team, Twilight initially was simply annoyed by the Owl, but eventually, after learning how powerful Friendship could be, she took the Owl in and named it Owlowicious, her official assistant.

Twilight, though in much the same way as the actual show, it's more of a "de facto" thing than an official position.

Thank you for clearing that up. I've been a big fan of Power Rangers since the debut of MMPR, and became a fan of Super Sentai (Shinkenger and Gokaiger rock) in the recent years.

Sounds pretty similar to my own story; I grew up on the original MMPR as a kid, stuck with the show until about mid-way through "Zeo" before returning toward the end of "In Space", by which point I'd kind of figured out that the show was adapted from pre-existing Japanese television, and then the internet came along and clarified just what that meant. Like you, though, it wasn't until the "Power Rangers" lull from '09-'10 (when no new season was made following "RPM") that I actually got a chance to start watching some full-on Sentai for myself, starting with "Shinkenger".

I had picked up Kamen Rider Den-O before picking up Go-Onger, then I found Shinkenger. I'm also watching Dairanger and Zyuranger. PR Samurai is an attempt at a direct adaptation to Shinkenger, which does not translate well. They should have gone for Goseiger, but would have to skip Gokaiger entirely.

"Samurai"'s problems extend well beyond its lazy choice to simply adapt "Shinkenger" so rigidly, IMO; "Time Force" did much the same thing with "Timeranger", and it worked out OK.
I think another element to consider is that it is simultaneously trying to be a throw-back to the original "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers", i.e. cartoonishly simplistic character dynamics, strictly-enforced "morals" for each episode, that sort of thing. It's a really poor mix. XD;

Indeed. They shouldn't have tried to mix the two. It's like when they couldn't decide if Turbo was going to be silly or serious.

Yeah, though at least "Turbo" managed to get itself into better gear after the big Team change-up mid-series; "Samurai" seems entirely content to wallow in its ill-fitting mediocrity all season long. >_O

The accidental skipping of the first episode(s) seemed to be a warning about what would happen.

Yeah, that was...kind of a bad omen. lD;

Don't forget, there are two types of team blaster. Combined akin to MMPR/Zyuranger and big cannon held by whole team and using their combined power like SPD/Dekaranger.

Very true, but if indeed I'm going to have a Team Blaster, it's definitely going to be in the "Zyuranger" mold; I just sort of prefer that type, myself. ^_^

Fair enough, it looks and feels like more of a team effort like that.

If that's the case, your initial weapons seem wrong for a team blaster.

Which is why I'm not sure I'm going to do one, but I actually think I do have an idea that might work; we shall see....

Can't wait to see what you create. I am enjoying this project. Twilight Sparkle is my favorite character in MLP:FiM.
