Part 2 of the "Bonus" series of SatAm/FiM crossovers. This time around, our participants are the arrogant sorcerer Naugus and the arrogant sorceress The Great and Powerful Trixie. This one flowed out of me nice and natural, and I'm very pleased with it overall, though I do wish Naugus felt less stuffed into the corner. Oh well; I had a lot of fun with this one, so who cares?

If he does, he'll have one VERY unhappy Starlight Glimmer to contend with.

I actually think Sombra's a better companion for Naugus. Both are powerful magic users, both use a "crystal motif", not to mention the popular fan theory that Sombra's based upon g1 Grogar, a character Michael Bell voiced.

Actually, if it's purely SatAM Naugus, Trixie may have a chance; his powers are greatly diminished outside of The Void, after all, and heck, he may not have solved that whole "turning to crystal" problem either. XD;

LOL.
I think not: Trixie can do a rope trick or two, fling people around and stuff, but Naugus discovered an alternate universe. Also, while in OUR universe he stopped Sonic in mid-run, as well as freaked out the literal ruler of the planet.
Trixie hasn't discovered a universe to KNOW how to reverse the crystallizing problem.

Naugus' discovery of the Void IS impressive, but without further knowledge of the details on HOW he discovered it, I don't know that it can necessarily be counted toward a sign of how powerful he is. How smart he is, maybe, and that would likely be an important factor in his fight with Trixie, but then again, Trixie herself has shown some pretty solid cunning too, and a good knowledge of how to turn her opponent's strengths against them....

"Knowledge of how to turn an opponent's strenght aganst them"
You are joking, right? All she did was stuffed apples into Applejack's mouth and make her look stupid. Not to mention she bragged herself into a corner.
Naugus disguised himself to look like the King, froze Sonic, and Robotnik didn't consider resisting Naugus for a second when he asked: "Wanna play...?"
Not to mention that Naugus can open the void from anywhere: Robotnik's machines can only do that with a ridiculously large apparatus in one place.

Honestly? Maybe you're right. Maybe Naugus really WOULD own Trixie up and down if they ever met; I can't say it's THAT important to me to argue one way or the other. XD; I just hope it still makes for a funny little picture.

Yeah, Naugus looks a wee bit cornered there but their faces are spot on
I think Naugus's snarl is about to grow past his jaws. X3 And as you pointed out somewhere in the comments, Trixie IS good at seeming powerful - she might at least make him cautious for a moment...

What if it was "The Great and Powerful Trixie" against ?
And the Black Mage in question could be any Black Mage, as long as it's FFI-style BM, like 8bit Theater's BM Evilwizardington or Leo from Duane and Brand0's Final Fantasy song.

Gojira007 In reply to RGB64 [2011-11-11 15:24:19 +0000 UTC]
Well, in THAT case, the odds fall significantly against Trixie; the Black Mages of old are not to be trifled with, and unlike Naugus there are no serious restrictions on where and how they can use their full power. XD

Priceless. Simply priceless--and I agree, this would absolutely happen as neither of them are... um... "people" people.
Trixie talks a good game, but sadly, as skilled as she is, my money's on Ixis. (Now, Naugus vs. Twilight... that's a magical contest I'd pay to see!)
Thanks for drawing this up. ^_^

Gojira007 In reply to BookishDelight [2011-11-10 05:34:44 +0000 UTC]
Neither of them are people at all either, so that probably helps. X3;
And as I've told others, it's a fairer fight than you might think; true, Trixie's no match for an Ursa Minor, but she isn't without talent, and Naugus' powers are drastically weaker outside of the Void (though admittedly that's specifically the SatAM Naugus we're talking about; Archie's Naugus is another story altogether...). I DO agree an Epic Magic Face-Off between Naugus and Twilight would be awesome, though.
...and now I may have to draw THAT one of these days. >w>
You're very welcome; thank YOU for suggesting the idea.

This is a great match-up idea, and one that I totally couldn't have foreseen, but it makes perfect sense!
Nice job drawing them. Unfortunately for Trixie, she's all bark and no bite, so I feel a bit sorry that's she's going up against someone like Naugus. And yeah... the way you drew Naugus is great. He looks really, really mad.

Gojira007 In reply to kaikaku [2011-11-09 22:52:36 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much. ^_^
To be fair, I wouldn't say Trixie has no bite; she makes short work of Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash, after all, and they aren't untalented Ponies. Likewise, Naugus' magic is significantly less powerful outside of Sanctuary, so it might be a more even match-up than one would initially suspect. But honestly, I've been playing this game with everyone who comments on who they think would win to preserve the tension of the pic, so don't pay me any mind. X3;
And yes, Naugus' rage face was VERY fun to draw. <3 Thank you again for your comment 'n'
