Would this same tutorial work the same on a cotton canvas? I've never worked with canvas before, but I just love how this looks, and I'm a little afraid to jump right into acrylics!

I just want to express how much love your artwork and your passion in all that you do, and since this tutorial will help me in my goal to master different media besides pencil, pen and paper, how much I love this tutorial!

I've followed your artwork for about 15 years, maybe more and I just have to say that it is awesome to have found you on DeviantArt since now I can comment on your art work that I have been watching you create for years.

Thanks a lot for making this, it's really useful. ^-^

But I wonder if you could help me with a problem I have. At the end you talk about overusing colored pencils. I use prismas and work lightly, but at the end it's too light. When I try to just go over it that waxy buildup happens and ruins it. Have any suggestions?

Oh, and have you used a kneaded eraser to erase the pencils? That usually works for me.

Hi ! Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial .. and I have a question for you .. when working with watercolor, what is the advantage of the waxy prismacolors over the normal watersoluble ones ? Doesn't the wax get in the way of your water ??

Awsome tutorial, it is really helpful, however I don't know if I would have retouched the background with pencils, the result is stiffer than when it only had watercolours.

This is great and so detailed! One question though: how do you keep the paper from crinkling up when you wet it for the watercolors?

DiamondDustTaxidermy [2008-06-09 01:53:53 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for sharing this! I can't stand Bristol for watercolors, heh. I dunno how you guys do it. The colored pencil advice is very helpful, especially specifically for Prismacolors. They do handle differently from other pencils. Thanks again!
