Nice Tutorial, mixed media is not for the weak.
I must agree about overworking Prismacolors, it takes a light hand and the patience to do many careful layers to get a good result.

Your art work is really beautiful and spiritual. I have no talent in the animal area of drawing but you definitely inspire.

Thanks for this tutorial, Goldy! I use Prisma's and smooth bristol as well; it was great seeing some similarities in your tools to mine I love learning what great artists' use to create their work.

Thank you so much for posting this tutorial! I know it'll help me out when I start coloring my animal drawings.
I've used Prismas for some time and I've noticed that a kneaded eraser will pick up better than a normal eraser in case of too much build up and one notices it right away.
But I agree, too much buildup and you can't work/finish it.

Thank you for posting such a wonderful tutorial.
How do you get your Prismas very sharp? I find that when I sharpen mine, they keep breaking in the sharpener. It's quite frustrating.
Also, what sort of watercolor do you recommend?

I have Prisma pencils and use the sharpener made by the Prismacolor company,
specifically for those kinds of pencils. It's made for them in particular, so it's much easier
on the lead and gives you a fine point without breaking them.

Normal pencil sharpeners are kind of rough on Prismas; try a sharpener made for makeup pencils, they're much gentler and less likely to break them.

X-acto knives work well too, I use them to sharpen mine and I find that the leads don't break as easily.

invest in a better sharpener. and dont drop your pencils, the lead breaks inside the wood DX
