so i kinda wanted to do something to break this awful art block, especially since this lockdown/quarantine is in full swing and there’s plenty of time to draw.
idk i may turn these into adopts later???? i really want to set up a paypal account for this type of stuff lol
anyway i designed 6 characters (all full-blooded, no hybrids; i’ll do them eventually) and attempted to make each one unique, and i also got to play around with tribe-specific facial structures.

1.) SandWing - Jackal: a cold bounty hunter born poor and raised in the Scorpion Den alongside her twin sister, who at the beginning was nothing more than a petty thief. Both longed for a better life, but Jackal’s sister turned to stealing and robbery while the former tried desperately to make an honest living.
Other dragons took advantage of her bad situation and Jackal’s sister eventually got caught up in a deep network of loans and debts, none of which she could pay, and it cost her life.
Fueled by unresolved pain, Jackal set out to catch criminals to bring them to justice, before they could prey on other vulnerable dragons like her sister.
Determined, impulsive, clever; she’s great at what she does and is a true survivalist.

2.) NightWing - Commander Stormwatcher: a well-respected and ridiculously strong, although not the brightest, royal commander who joined the Queen’s army at a young age.
He was given up as a payment for a debt his parents owed to the royal NightWing family. He was treated fairly and doesn’t remember his biological mother or father, but was deeply distraught over finding out he was nothing more than collateral to a bunch of selfish dragons when he reached adulthood.
He wishes to one day leave the army and live life as a free NightWing, perhaps settling down with a mate and having hatchlings; a family he could love unconditionally.

3.) SkyWing - Goshawk: a quiet, almost constantly agitated vagabond who used to be a noble with a loving mate and several children. His life was wonderful, one of luxury and security until he was targeted by a cruel crime lord who normally terrorized the poorer sections of the Sky Kingdom.
It wasn’t personal; Goshawk had a lot of treasure and a grand palace to hoard it all. His family dying was an unfortunate case of “wrong place, wrong time” when the robbers broke in.
This shattered him, and he never really recovered from the loss. He isolated himself for months until he just up and left his home one night, leaving everything behind, hoping to leave the memories behind as well.

4.) SeaWing - Ambassador Algae: a confident socialite with an interest for learning about other tribes, well that and mostly a series of lovers she meets up with every time she travels to a different kingdom.
While her personal life is kept a secret (fearing judgement for not only having multiple partners but also ones from various tribes too) she is very open about almost everything else and has no problem making friends. Her goal is to help create more education programs for all dragonets and secure safe cities for inter-tribe communities during times of war.
But she also enjoys the life of exploring and indulging, so it’s a win-win for her.

5.) RainWing - Heliconia: a relaxed, positive-vibes-only dragon who loves piercings (which is why she decided to learn how to properly do body modifications), and literally anything blue. Like most RainWings during Glory’s time, she was a huge pacifist who saw violence as brutish and unnecessary.
Unfortunately, she was one of the several RainWing test subjects kept on the NightWing volcanic island. Her extended time spent there really changed her views on war and now she can’t stand to be around most other RainWings, sometimes going as far as to blame them for not rescuing her and the others without the persuasion from Glory.
She travels from city to city designing jewelry and piercing customers who want body mods. It’s her way of leaving her past life behind and avoiding any NightWing-sympathizers.

6.) IceWing - Dr. Howl: an intelligent and sadistic scientist/doctor who was infamous for conducting horrendous experiments on live dragons. He was an animus as well, but kept his magic a closely guarded secret as it meant he was of royal blood.
He detested the royal IceWing family, he saw them as weak stuffy fools who cared more about tedious customs and traditions than true rulers who could make real advancements. He wanted no connection to them, but didn’t mind having endless power at his disposal.
In fact, he used it as a tool for his research and tests. One well known spell he created was one to keep his subjects alive and fully awake while he did his gruesome procedures, just so he could track vitals and measure pain tolerance in individuals.

i would’ve made a mudwing too but they’re awkward to draw sometimes + i’m tired lol
