Description
This is a drawing of my friend Asian Nate. I thought this would be a good picture to draw because the pose is a perfect representation of his personality. He is the very outgoing and the life of any party but he is one of the most depressed people I know. The meaning in this picture is he is hiding (in the picture behind his hands, in real life behind his insecurities). He puts on a funny face to make other people happy and he should be working more on making himself happy.Related content

maybe if he could see how many people he made happy just by looking at this picture of him, and giving them an insight, he would start to believe in himself more.

At first glance, this is very comical.
Upon reading the description, it makes you want to jump through the comp screen and hold him. Tell him things will get better.

Up in the air Junior Bird Man; Up in the air, upside down... Up in the air Junior Bird Man, Keep your feet up off the ground! This is the little song my friends and I sang while we did the same gesture drawn in your picture! It takes me back to the mid 70s! Your art gave me big smiles and good memories. I love it!

I love it when I see art like this, because not only is it awesome, but I can relate to it personally. I see what you did with Asian Nate and I just thought "wow, this guys is just like me." But you know what Asian Nate has? A friend like you and that is the best thing a guy can have.

I'm sorry that your friend deals with such insecurities; personally I believe drawings with this sort of meaning behind them can really bring healing to a person. I'd say you should talk to him, but obviously (points to jehoshephat's comment) you already have.
