Godlings - quiet, serene spirits that live in human housing, almost unnoticable for the inhabitants. They were helpful creatures, born of souls of children that didn't live long enough to be baptised. In exchange for a bowl of food left somewhere in the house, the Godlings took care of the house and barred evil forces from entering it.

Bożątka – ciche i spokojne duszki zamieszkujące ludzkie chaty, których obecność była niemal niezauważalna. Były to dobrotliwe istotki, które powstają z duszyczek zmarłych dzieci, które nie dożyły własnego chrztu. Gospodynie często zostawiały miseczkę z jedzeniem dla ducha. Bożątka w zamian opiekowały się domostwem i nie pozwalały złym mocom wedrzeć się do środka.

Fifth part of my "Slavic Bestiary" project - godling. Do you remember Johnny (pl Janek) from The Witcher 3? He is a one of the godlings, but they are a bit different from those from Slavic Mithology.

I haven't played the witcher, but this is pretty cool. I try to be versed in all sorts of mythology, and yet I have not heard of a Godling. I'll have to look into that.
