Normally I don't post this kind of art (i.e. anything that overtly speaks of my shipping preferences) on here...but this one turned out so nice I figured it earned a spot in my Gallery.I'm really happy with how I drew teen!John-117 and teen!Kelly-087. I think this gets across that while they do look mature, they still haven't quite "solidified" into their adult bodies yet - which is the impression I always got when reading the parts in the Halo novels that described what the Spartan-IIs looked like prior to (and just after) their augmentations.
The background is probably still a bit too soft and painterly, but the 'Renegades' art style seems to vary in this regard (particularly when it comes to grass) so I'm sticking with what I did here.
This is an illustration I did based off of a fanfiction by the great . It basically gives a reason behind why the Chief is known for being a man of his word.

I actually have to curse you a little bit. You make so much awesome art I'm running out of places to put it on my devices. I already have the picture you did for my roses story as the background on my iPad, my iPhone and iPod have John, Kelly, Fred, and Kathleen from the black and white series you did right before Halo 4, and I don't have any devices left to put awesome pictures like this as the background or lock screen. Thank Church that it's December so I get to use the awesome Fred/Kathleen mistletoe picture you did as my avatar.

I'm planning a short piece where Kathleen introduces Blade to what Christmas is...and maybe if everyone's good(and I finally finish this Anastasia story) I'll write one about John and Kelly's family.

I like it a lot. It has good shading and I adore the renegades style. I agree with your point on how they haven't quite yet become the soldiers we all know and love and it shows in the Chief especially where in other pieces by you he has this hardened look, but in this piece he has more softer less paled and hardened features. Good stuff I like it a lot.
