Description
Just a simple walkthrough, I added parts that I saved. I do really paint the same way traditionally as I do digitally. xD theres not much diffrence actually.Only traditonally i have to make the colors myself, and water out the paint like if I were using opacity pressure in photoshop haha. Im used to painting on one layer anyway so it doesnt matter if I dont have layers traditionally xDI use cheap acrylics which you buy in huge tubes, saves money xD. I dont like the small ones they stink and die fast. I think i used 3 brushes on this piece, one big, one medium and one small for details. big one being flat, and two being round.
Ignore typos if they are there xD
8D hope it helps somehow

Is it just me or do the 3rd and 4th pictures show a larger rock? there seems to be more space on the left hand corner that gets cut off in the next image

Thanks for doing this tutorial!
I find painting to be one of my weak points.
Have you ever painted with Gouache/guache before?

Well I'm not painting on a rock or slab of stone although, the tutorial is really helpful! I'm working on a Christmas gift for my grandmother... it'll be an acrylic painting of flowers. I've got simple sketches down but they all look so good. DX

*angelic choir* lol Nice Griff, but may I ask how often you watered down the paints, and in/with what? Most of my paintings come out looking either too saturated or too watery and I was wondering what portions you watered down. I am experimenting, but most end up failed but educational XD It may be that my acrylics refuse to water down without clumps, I use the 'tiny' tubes (Daler-Rowley and Liquitex).

I water out with water xD
And the parts i water out is if the paint i make is to bright. If your acrylic has clumps in it when you water it down owo it might be old.
The light part of the sky at the bottom is watered so the fade effect is better. and most of the light areas on the owl in the face and body is watered ^^ I always use some water while painting or the pain is to thick xD

My acrylics are almost brand-new. XD Not more than a couple months. It may be because I use the medium-heavy density in the paints. Or they're just stubborn. XD
Thank you!
